Virginia Bland
Virginia Bland has worked for The Times Dispatch for many years. She is principal owner of the paper and continues to have a role in its weekly production as the people and events writer. Her late husband, James L. Bland Jr., served as editor and publisher of The TD for many years.
She taught school at Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge for a short time. She was also a homemaker and has two children, John Bland and Beth Bland, and three grandchildren. She is a member of First United Methodist Church in Walnut Ridge, where she is active in the United Methodist Women.
