Shantelle Prater

Shantelle Prater is the newest addition to The Times Dispatch and serves as staff writer. Her duties include composing stories and taking pictures.

Shantelle is a native of Walnut Ridge and a 2004 graduate of Hoxie High School. She is the daughter of Rick and Lesha Prater of Walnut Ridge and the granddaughter of the late Burl and Virginia Prater of Portia and Verna Gilmore and the late Hubert Gilmore of Walnut Ridge.

She is a 2009 graduate of Arkansas Tech University, where she received her bachelor's degree in journalism. At ATU, Shantelle focused her studies on public relations and communications. She played an active role in Greek life and is a part of the Russellville Zeta Tau Alpha Alum. She was also a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha, an honorary society club, and the National Leadership Student Society.
