Victim of house fire identified

An early morning house fire on Oct. 28 claimed the life of Eric Anglin, according to Hoxie Fire Chief Chris Ditto.

The Lawrence County 911 center received a call around 6 a.m. on Oct. 28, reporting a house fire on Burke Street in Hoxie. The fire was fully-involved when firefighters arrived.

The fire was extinguished, and one victim was found in the home. The name of the victim was not released until positive identification was made by the Arkansas State Crime Lab.

Ditto said the crime lab also ruled the cause of death as smoke inhalation. He said they are still awaiting results from samples taken at the fire, but preliminary findings are that no foul play was involved.
