Brady ~ Roberts

Peyton Madison Leann Roberts became the bride of Logan Gregory Brady in a formal ceremony solemnized on Aug. 12, 2017, at The James Ranch in Pocahontas.

Parents of the couple are Amy Randall of Walnut Ridge and Will Roberts of Hoxie and Gregory and Jennifer Brady of Walnut Ridge.

Dr. Robert Foster officiated the double-ring ceremony.

Maid of honor was Mallory Jayden Moore and matron of honor was Mary Elizabeth Dickson, both of Walnut Ridge. Serving as bridesmaids were Stacy Leanne Fisher and JuliaAnn Claire Fisher, both of Walnut Ridge.

Landon Brady of Walnut Ridge served as best man. Groomsmen were David Ryan of Walnut Ridge and Rob Rainwater and Grant Howe, both of Paragould.

Ushers were Kai Fisher and Noah Roark, both of Walnut Ridge, and Braydon Taylor of Newport. Lori Mosley presided at the bride's book table.

A reception followed the ceremony at The James Ranch. The couple enjoyed a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica.

Obituaries

Betty Jean Boyd

Betty Jean Boyd, 76, of Imboden, passed away Oct. 2, 2017, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born Dec. 30, 1940, in Ravenden, she was the daughter of Hulen and Christine Green Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Darrell and Lynn Lawrence; and a sister, Jeanette Frisbee.

Survivors include three children, Randy Boyd and wife Cathy, Ronald Boyd and wife Cindy, and Stephanie Gillean and husband Donnie; four grandchildren, Tyler (Kayci) Gillean, Lisa (Kurt) Weiand, Matthew Ryals, Allen (Tonya) Ryals; five great-grandchildren, Gannon Gillean, Justin (Lacey) Ragsdale, Brianna Christison, Amber Christison; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara (Robin) Dail; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Abraham Velazquez officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Frisbee, Dale Lawrence, Brian Dail, Chad Dail, Rodney Lawrence and Derek Lawrence.

Memorials may be made to Friendship Cemetery.

Johnny Lynn Burns

Johnny Lynn Burns, 65, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

He was born to the late John Wesley and Rubye Burns in Walnut Ridge on Nov. 4, 1951. Johnny lived his entire life in the Jonesboro area.

He was a 1969 Westside High School graduate and then graduated from Arkansas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Upon retiring from the Social Security Administration, Johnny enjoyed substitute teaching at Hoxie High School. Throughout Johnny's life he was very interested in history and archeology. Most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Burns; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Faulkner.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Misti (Brent) Weaver of Jonesboro; son, Erin (Stacey) Burns of Maumelle; one sister, Carolyn Faulkner of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; Gage Weaver, Brentlee Weaver and Callie Weaver, all of Jonesboro; Carsyn Burns, Emma Burns and Drew Burns, all of Maumelle; four nephews, Randy Myers, Tristan Myers, Dakotah Burns and Miche Burns; and a niece, Shannon Burns.

Visitation was Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home, with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. Burial was private.

Keith Gill

Keith Vincent Gill, 58, of California, died Sept. 22, 2017, at Tri City Medical Center in San Diego.

Born Dec. 8, 1958, in Walnut Ridge, he was a 1977 graduate of WRHS and was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David Gill; grandparents, Olus and Rebecca Gill, and Ed O'Connor and Alma Mount.

Survivors include his parents, Colbert and Doris Gill; a brother, Greg Gill and wife Kim, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Teresa Gill, Cherokee Village; two nieces and two nephews.

Graveside service was Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park with Glenn Smith officiating. Cox Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Donald Martin, Von Gill, Joey Gill, Steve Morgan, Chip Gill and Duane Gill.

Kalyn Wayne Housdan

Kalyn Wayne Housdan, 52, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 29, 2017, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born April 24, 1965, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Danny and Sharon Crum Housdan. He worked in the banking industry and was an avid train lover.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon Housdan, Walnut Ridge; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home. Private burial of his cremains will be in Strangers Home Cemetery.

Ina Louise Perry

Ina Louise Perry, 88, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 29, 2017, at her home.

Born Feb. 21, 1929, in Springfield, Mo., she was the daughter of Evertt and Ethel Hendon Daniels. She was a homemaker and a member of the Light Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eldon Floyd Perry; her stepfather, J.A. Brown; a grandson, James Earl Perry; a great-grandson, Ryan Gabriel Perry; a brother, Ernst Daniels; three stepbrothers, James, Bill and Ray Brown; and a niece, Leona McGuire.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Perry; two son, James Perry, Nashville, Tenn., and David Perry, Paragould; three daughters, Evelyn Thomas and Barbara Billingsley, both of Paragould, and Betty Webster, Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Betty Brown, Little Rock; three step-siblings, Jess Brown, Paragould, Lessie Hahn, Alaska, and Eugene Brown, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 1 p.m. at the Light Church of Christ with Paul McFadden officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Verlon Polston

Verlon Louise Polston, 76, of Springdale, died Sept. 25, 2017.

Born May 1, 1941, in Strawberry, she was the daughter of Claude Jackson and Harriet Pauline Drury Mullen. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Polston, in 2007.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 61 years, Jerry Polston; four children, Tom Polston and wife Diann, Clifty, Twana Miller and husband Russell, Evening Shade, Tonia Heckman and husband John, Sherwood, and Traci Day and husband Tim, Springdale; a brother, Carroll Mullen, Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Judy Schrickhise and Jane Wallace, both of New Boston, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale.

Debra Shank

Debra Louwien Shank, 60, of St. Peters, Mo., died Sept. 25, 2017, at her home.

Born Oct. 16, 1956, in Lakehurst, N.J., she was a receptionist and insurance coordinator for Bridgeton Dental in Branson, Mo., and for Dentures and Dental Services in St. Peters.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Louwien.

Survivors include her husband, David Shank; her mother, Dorothy Jones Louwien, Ravenden; two stepdaughters, Melissa Hayes and husband Charlie, and Michelle Yingling and husband Jason, all of Kansas; two brothers, Boyd Louwien and wife Virginia, Lafeyette, and Chris Louwien, Ravenden; a sister, Dottie Kathey, Bartlett, Tenn; and a friend, Arnold Dormer, Memphis.

Loretta Sisk

Loretta Kaye Lawson Sisk, 70, a lifelong resident of Lawrence Count, died Sept. 27, 2017, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born April 13, 1947, in Lynn, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sisk; a son, William Nathan Henson III; her parents, Henry and Julia Lawson; grandparents, Layman and Pearl Herring and Walter and Alice Lawson; three brothers, Randy Smith, Donny Cruse and Estell Wayne Cruse; and her in-laws, Jack and Kathy Sisk.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Wesley Tillman Jr. and spouse Angel, and Nathan Brent Henson and spouse Amber; two daughters, Jamie Paulette Tillman-Pflaumer and spouse Michael, and Breanna McKenzie Newby-Sisk and spouse Nichuita; seven brothers, Bill Lawson, Terry Lawson, Gary Lawson, Tony Lawson, David Lawson, Johnny Cruse and Sandy Smith; three sisters, Judy Lawson McGee, Elva Holder and Lesa Gramling; a sister-in-law, Debbie Gramlich; six grandchildren, Matthew Blake Hollister, Chelsea Mikal-Teegan Hollister, Stephen Eric Douglas Tillman, Irwin Dylan Thomas Tillman, River Blake Newby-Sisk and Jasper Reed Newby-Sisk; and a great-grandson, Grayson Blaze Hollister.

Funeral was Saturday at 10 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Bro. John Durham officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Lynn.

Joyce Marieda Williams

Joyce Marieda Williams, 87, of Ravenden, died Oct. 1, 2017.

Born Dec. 15, 1929, in the Fender community, she was the daughter of Neil and Clara Rosselot McCormic. She worked as a secretary for many years at Farm Service, the Church of Christ and The Flower Basket.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce L. Williams; a brother, Gene McCormic; and a grandson, James Franklin Williams.

Survivors include three sons, Nath Lee Williams and wife Peggy, Boyce Vance Williams and wife Karen, and Franklin Mac Williams and wife Carolyn; eight grandchildren, Natalee, Josh, Sarah, Kimberly, Joey Lee, Benjamin, Spencer and Linda; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.
