Braxton Rhett Vaughn

Ryan and Monica Vaughn of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 16, 2017, at St. Bernards Healthcare in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, one ounce, and has been named Braxton Rhett Vaughn.

He has an older brother, Brennan, who is four.

Goldie Lucille Davis

Goldie Lucille Davis, 98, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 21, 2017, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 2, 1918, in Imboden, she was the daughter of Redmon Clay and Viola Ward Holder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Davis; four brothers; two sisters; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathern Richardson and husband Terry; four sons, Darrell Davis and wife Shirley, Dale Cotton Davis and wife Pharis, Ricky Davis and Edward Holder and wife Joyce; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Davis; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 37 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home. Funeral will follow at 1 p.m., with Everett Hart officiating. Burial will be in Duty Cemetery near Walnut Ridge.

Billie June Jones

Billie June Jones, 86, of Lynn, died Aug. 14, 2017, at her home.

Born May 2, 1931, in Smithville, she was the daughter of Thomas Leggit and Pynie Butler Malone. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist belief.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jones; a sister, Neva Jo Sherrod; and a brother, C.W. Butler.

Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Reese; four sons, George Jones and wife Kathy, Dwight Jones, Jerry Jones and Marvin Jones; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday, Aug. 16, at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Lynn.

Nella Beatrice Mullen

Nella Beatrice Mullen, 93, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 15, 2017, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

Born May 28, 1924, in Minturn, she was the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Janie Lee Householder. She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Assembly of God church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mullen; three grandchildren, Bill Mullen, Jackie Price and Vicka Park; and her companion, Chester Waldrupe.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Huskey and husband Bill, Phyllis Flippo and Paulette Price and husband Billy; four sons, Joe Mullen and wife Donna, Dennis Mullen and wife Robin, Gene Mullen and wife Brenda and Mark Mullen and wife Annah; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Paul Moore officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Rickey Ray Nash

Rickey Ray "Rick" Nash, 57, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 14, 2017.

Born Aug. 11, 1960, in Pocahontas, he served as an elder at Main Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Nash.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Ellen Horn Nash; a son, Brandon Nash, Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Amanda Ludwig and husband Jason, Walnut Ridge; two sisters, Brenda Brooks and husband Robin, Maynard, and Sherrye Wilson and husband Derek, Trumann; and six grandchildren, Cole Walker, Drake Nash, Brylee Nash, Lillee Nash, Khloe Ludwig and Wesley Ludwig.

Funeral was Sunday at 1 p.m. at Fears Family Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Rob Combs officiating. Burial was in Maynard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ed Baker, Randy Barber, Shane Bass, Cade Crisler, Darren French and Victor Rapert.

JoAnn Roberts

JoAnn Roberts, 76, of Hillsboro, Tenn., died Aug. 14, 2017, at St. Thomas Heart and Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Born Jan. 29, 1941, in O'Kean, she was the daughter of Dolaphis and Jewell O'Dell French. She worked in customer service at Walmart and was of the Methodist belief.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue French; and several brothers.

Survivors include a son, Yancey Hale, Hillsboro, Tenn.; a daughter, Lyanna Stombaugh, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, John Dee Stombaugh II, Samantha Stombaugh, Sydney Stombaugh, JoAnn Anthony, Brittany Dawson and Kayla Johnson.

Graveside service was Friday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Susan Kay Williams

Susan Kay Williams, 63, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 16, 2017, at her home.

Born April 14, 1954, in Walnut Ridge, she was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glendon Williams; and her parents, J.C. and Aline Dulaney Taylor.

Survivors include a daughter, Kalinda Moore and husband Chad; a sister, Charlett Lamb; and a grandson, Hunter Moore.

Funeral was Saturday at noon at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Bill Willard officiating. Burial was in Markham Cemetery near Egypt.

Betty Wilson

Betty Modene Wilson, 84, of Jonesboro, died Aug. 20, 2017, at Lexington Place Healthcare in Jonesboro.

Born June 11, 1933, in Portia, she was the daughter of Elmer and Clara Ballard Holder. She worked as a waitress and as an inspector in factories. She was of the Baptist belief.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Holder and Leroy Holder; and a sister, Joyce Baltz.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Colbert and husband Walter, Jonesboro; a sister, Linda Chapin, Houston; and a brother, Stanley Holder, Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Graveside service is Friday at 3 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park. Bryan Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

John F. Wright, 70, of Strawberry, died Aug. 18, 2017.

Born Feb. 14, 1947, at Strawberry, he was self-employed and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lones and Zelphia Norman Wright; and three brothers, Norman Wright, Max Wright and Dalton Wright.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Wright; a son, Johnny Wright and wife Frannie, Strawberry; a daughter, Traci Schnackenberg and husband Adam, Gilberts, Ill.; two stepsons, Keith Russell, Powhatan, and Heith Russell and wife Shawn, Walnut Ridge; a stepdaughter, Denise Burkhart and husband Kevin, Ellsinore, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City with Bros. Roger Randolph, Joe Guthrie and Brandon Wright officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery at Lynn.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Wright, Skyler Burkhart, Tyler Wright, Corey Wright, Logan Ellison, Richard Randolph and Roger Randolph. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
