Kaylynn Dawn Hendrickson

Brett Hendrickson and Ashley Isbell of Jonesboro have announced the birth of a daughter on July 18, 2017, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed two pounds and has been named Kaylynn Dawn Hendrickson.

Grandparents are Robert and Tammy Hendrickson of Strawberry.

She is the great-granddaughter of Kay Hendrickson of Batesville.

Anson Lawrence Hufstedler

Adam and Vanessa Hufstedler of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of their second child, a son, born July 12, 2017, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed eight pounds, six ounces and has been named Anson Lawrence Hufstedler. He has an older brother, Abel.

Grandparents are Nathan and Mary Oliver of Bono, Tammy Sorg of Farmington, Mo., Dina Rose and James Yankee of Walnut Ridge and Cliff Hufstedler of Warm Springs.

Great-grandparents are Larry and Sandra Penn of Smithville, Glenn and Marie Oliver of Lynn and Joyce Rose of Walnut Ridge.

Great-great-grandmother is Wanda Rose of McKinney, Texas.

Bobby Joe Burks

Bobby Joe Burks, 42, of Jonesboro, died July 20, 2017, at NEA Baptist Hospital.

Born June 1, 1975, in Granite City, Ill., he was the son of Bobby Joe Sr. and Peggy Darlene Jordan Burks.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Darlene Burks.

Survivors include his father, Bobby Burks and wife Patsy, Lynn; a brother, Michael Dailey and wife Jessica, Paragould; and four sisters, Tammy Robins and husband Ronnie, Powhatan, April Sexton and Amanda Burks, both of Lynn, and Angelia Meyers and husband Preston, Batesville.

Private burial was Friday, July 21, in Dry Creek Cemetery at Lynn. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Ida Dickey

Ida Vern Grimes Dickey, 80, passed from this life Thursday, July 20, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at St. Bernards.

She was born Jan. 19, 1937, in Egypt to Henry Edgar Grimes and Mary Agnes Bonner Grimes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles E. Grimes and Henry E. Grimes Jr.; and her daughter, Genave Joy Dickey.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Ellen (Vaughn) Wisdom, Kathy (Stan Wilhite) Dickey, Leslie Hazlewood, Jewell (Mike) Barnes and Ruth (Ronald) Baker; sisters-in-law, Wilma Grimes and Laura Grimes; grandchildren, Trevor (Stephanie) Wisdom, Erin Wisdom Miehl, Quiara Hazlewood, Lorne (Jodi) Hazlewood, Brandon (Brandi) Hazlewood, Michael D. (Tonya) Barnes Jr. and Katie Barnes; great-grandchildren, Silas Nanny, Audrey Miehl, Dakota Dylan Dodd, Kayli Hazlewood, Brianna Hazlewood, Kadin Brown and Scarlett Whiteside.

Honorary pallbearers included her daughters.

Her family sincerely thanks those who provided outstanding care at St. Bernards Medical Center CVICU/Stepdown Unit, as well as the caregivers at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at St. Bernards.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Trinity Cemetery in Bono, with Lorne Hazlewood officiating. Visitation followed at the Herman Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Emerson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Larry Hibbard

Larry Eugene Hibbard, 71, of Portia, died July 23, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born Jan. 7, 1946, in Walnut Ridge, he retired from Cavenaugh Ford in Black Rock and was an owner and operator of H&H Antique and Flea Market in Portia. He was a member of the Portia Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Vera Tate Hibbard; a sister, Sue Lovelady; and two infant siblings, Roger and Rebecca.

Survivors include his wife, Ramona Whitmire Hibbard, whom he married May 13, 1965; a son, Terry Hibbard and wife Carol, Jonesboro; a nephew he raised, Adam Whitmire, Jonesboro; a sister, Jean Bookout, Newport; two grandchildren, Rodney Green and Wendy French; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral is today at 2:30 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Shelton, Royce Lusk, Lawrence Kildow, Alex Latham, Luther Tribble and Clifton Powers. Honorary pallbearer is Victor Clark.

Visitation is today from 1-2:30 p.m.

Timothy Curtis Holderbaugh

Timothy Curtis Holderbaugh, 44, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

Tim was born on July 5, 1973, in Memphis, to Irvin "Sonny" and Sallie Wooten Holderbaugh. Tim was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and friend. He was a member of Sutton Free Will Baptist Church in Pocahontas.

Survivors include his loving wife, Amy Murphy Holderbaugh, of the home; sons, Ashton Holderbaugh, of the home, and Bryan Holderbaugh, Memphis; daughters, Adlee Grace Holderbaugh, of the home, and Katie (Michael) Lieske, Memphis; brothers, Patrick Holderbaugh, Baton Rouge, La., and Mark Hugo, Memphis; and one grandson, Grayson Lieske.

Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at Fears Family Funeral Home in Pocahontas. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Sutton Cemetery.

Johnny Jones

Johnny Thurman Jones, 78, of Smithville, died July 19, 2017, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born March 25, 1939, in Walnut Ridge, he was the son of Orvel and Agnes Collins Jones. He was a cattle farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Pauline Cullum Jones, whom he married Nov. 15, 1960; a son, Johnny Dewayne Jones; two sisters, Brenda Cullum and Sue Jones; and a brother, Rex Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Orville Jones and wife Rena, and Lamar Jones and wife Tanya; three daughters, Carol Sturman and husband Ray, Rebecca Skimahorn and husband Billy, and Kimberly Collier and husband Sean; a sister, Jean White; three brothers, Harry Jones, Larry Jones and Billy Mack Jones; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Saturday at 10 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery, near Denton, with Bros. Gene Cullum and Billy Mack Jones officiating. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Gregory Jones, Clifton Jones, Cheyanne Jones, L.A. Jones, Houston Skimahorn, Zach Collier, Jacob Christopher and Billy Cullum. Honorary pallbearers were Meagan Collier, Mallory Norwood, Braden Jones, Jason Christopher and Josh Christopher.

Ina Marie Pickney

Ina Marie Fears Pickney, 76, of Walnut Ridge, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017.

Ina was born on Aug. 8, 1940, in Strangers Home, to John and Lucille Dunlap Fears. She was a member of the Portia Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnnie Harold Fears; and a grandson, Robert Wayne Brumfield.

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert W. Pickney; daughters, Cynthia Brumfield McGough, of Walnut Ridge, Pamela Warren (Gregory) Snow, of Walnut Ridge, and Virginia (Leon) Goff, of Hoxie; brothers, Gerald (Katie) Fears, of Pocahontas, Kenneth (Shirley Mae) Fears, of Walnut Ridge, and Darrell (Rose) Fears, of Pocahontas; sisters, Rita Lou McGinnis, of Walnut Ridge, Barbara (William) McClure, of Trumann, Linda (Donnie) Bourisaw, of Walnut Ridge, and Glenda (Darrell Dean) Pickney, of Hoxie, grandchildren, Randall (Christina) Brumfield, Boise, Idaho, Richard (Stacia) Brumfield of Powhatan, Va., Sarah (Michael) Jimenez of Gray, La., Theresa Warren of Prairieville, La., Joshua Goff of Conway, and Rachel Goff of Jonesboro, great-grandchildren, Kyle Brumfield, Bianca Brumfield, Riley Brumfield, Amelia Brumfield, Abigail Brumfield, Emma Jimenez, Trey Jimenez, Matthew Jimenez, Connor Weber and Cade Weber.

Funeral was Tuesday at noon at Fears Family Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Gerald Fears officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Randall Brumfield, Richard Brumfield, Josh Goff, Terry McNelly, Kevin Pickney and James Pickney. Honorary pallbearers were Leon Goff and Gregory Snow.

Connie Ruth Stowers

Connie Ruth Stowers, 55, of Maynard, died July 22, 2017, NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born Nov. 17, 1961, in Marvel, she was the retired owner and operator of many local restaurants. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Andrew and Mary Lee Hawkins Boozer; and a brother, Orville Lee Boozer.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Stowers, whom she married June 2, 1984; three children, John Stowers Jr. and wife Lisa, Hoxie, and Mary Tidwell and husband Justin, and Paul Stowers, all of Maynard; three brothers, Andrew Boozer and wife Virginia, Larry Boozer and wife Janet, and Jerry Boozer and wife Sebrina; six sisters, Ruby James, Brenda Story and husband Albert, Mary Liles and husband Ernie, Margaret Hall and husband Roy, Shirley Cornett and husband Dale, and Sharon Trinidad and husband Robert; and 10 grandchildren, Victoria, Wesley, Trenton, Wyatt, Emma, Jazmyn, Sophia, Whitley, Gabriel and Layla.

Funeral is today at 10 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Cochran and Justin Tidwell officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hart, Clifton Hall, Randy Carter Sr., Ernie Liles Jr., Terry Liles and Jimmy Liles. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Boozer and Billy Trinidad.
