Ember Grace Maxie

Dylan and Kelly Maxie of Walnut Ridge announce the birth of a daughter, on July 7, 2017, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

The baby weighed seven pounds, six ounces, and has been named Ember Grace Maxie.

Grandparents are Danny and Kim Maxie of Hoxie and Tim and Maxine Richey of Walnut Ridge.

Great-grandparents are Glenda Neely of Walnut Ridge and Jerry and Eugenia Williams of Piggott.

Obituaries

Carl Edward Baird Jr.

Carl Edward Baird Jr., 60, of Ft. Worth, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1957, in Jonesboro. Carl graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and Arkansas State University. He was saved and baptized in the First Baptist Church of Walnut Ridge. Carl enjoyed spending time and traveling with his wife, Theresa.

He was preceded in death by his precious wife of 21 years, Theresa Kinkade Baird; his mother, Betty Baird; grandparents, Connie and T.E. Baird and Jack and Beatrice Holt; and father-in-law, Jim Kinkade.

Survivors include his father, Carl Baird Sr.; sister, Sherry (Robert) Engelken; nephews, David (Natalie) Engelken, Daniel (Ashley) Engelken, all of Jonesboro; mother-in-law, Ruth Kinkade; brother-in-law, Rob (Kim) Kinkade; and one niece, Addison Kinkade, all of Lake City.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 3 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Lake City Memorial Cemetery, with active pallbearers being David Engelken, Daniel Engelken, Jim Sellers, Bill Reilly, Perry Webb and Rob Kinkade. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Wall, S.A. Skidmore, Jeff Wilson, Steve Engelken and Len B. Nall.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.

Gary Berry

Gary Dewayne Berry, 63, of Hoxie, also known as "Ponytail," died July 15, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, following a lengthy illness.

Born July 29, 1953, in Jonesboro, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver and a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret McHalffey Berry.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Walker Berry, whom he married March 22, 1971; a son, Gerald Berry and wife Angela, Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Amy Martinez and husband Rickie, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Margaret Loven and husband Ernie, Ravenden Springs; five brothers, Randy Sizemore and wife Sue, Mike Berry, Eddy Berry, Rick Berry and Kevin Berry and wife Danielle; his stepmother, Lucille Berry, Washington; and six grandchildren, Jessie Lee Berry, Gregory Berry, Anna Berry, Margaret Berry, Robert Martinez and Cyanna Martinez.

Funeral is Friday at 10 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Foster officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.

Visitation is Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Scott Holder, Robert Ealey, Dean Hancock, Keith Fisher, Virgil Adamson and Steve Adamson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Roberts, Terry Vaughn and Tommy Bradley.

Steven Wayne Bristow

Steven Wayne Bristow, 59, of Smithville, died July 11, 2017, at his home.

Born Aug. 14, 1957, in Smithville, he was the son of the late Leland and Minnie Wildrick Bristow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Bristow, Roger Bristow and Lewis Bristow; and an infant sister, Rose Marie Bristow.

Survivors include a son, Steven Bristow (Tina), Batesville; a sister, Charolette Kellar, Dexter, Mo.; five brothers, Truman Bristow and Jeff Bristow (Jean), all of Lynn, Thomas Bristow (Gerry) and Scotty Bristow (Ann), all of Burnett, Texas, and Frank Bristow (Debbie), Lomeda, Texas; and two stepsons, Jason Broadway (Alyssa) and Blake Broadway (Holly).

Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Lynn with Bro. David Stewart officiating. Burial was in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Ronald Collier

Ronald Sherden Collier, 58, of Malvern, died July 15, 2017.

Born May 1, 1959, in Buchanan, Mich., he was a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Collier; his father, Cicero Collier; and a sister, Patsy Ann Collier.

Survivors include his mother, Anna Bryan Collier Armes and husband Ted, Walnut Ridge; and a brother, Michael Collier, Walnut Ridge.

Privates services were held and burial was in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Glendon Girard

Glendon Keith Girard, 57, of Walnut Ridge, died July 11, 2017, at his home.

Born April 12, 1960, in Walnut Ridge, he traveled the world and had a love for life, family and helping people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Helen Girard; and a sister-in-law, Lynn Girard.

Survivors include two brothers, Jim Girard, Pocahontas, and Richard Girard and wife Misty, Walnut Ridge; nieces and nephews, Rachel Jacoby, James Girard, Andrea Girard and Bridgett Cates, all of Pocahontas, Alex Buckwalter, Imboden, and Rachael Gross, D'Anna Girard, Stephaney Girard, Dakota Girard and Audrey Girard, all of Walnut Ridge; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Jonathon, Garrin and Jaylee Jacoby, Kaylie McCandless, Zatchary Price and Brayden Girard.

Cremation has been chosen. No services will be held. McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas had charge of arrangements.

Mike Gosha

Charles Michael "Mike" Gosha, 60, of Walnut Ridge, died July 16, 2017, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro, following a short illness.

Born Oct. 28, 1956, he was a farmer and was of the Christian faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Faye Gosha; his father, Charles Gosha; and his grandparents.

Survivors include two daughters, Candy Bridges (Sherry) and Leslie Gosha Ripley (Alan), all of Walnut Ridge; a son, Adam Gosha, Walnut Ridge; his mother, Shirley Norton, Illinois; his stepfather, H.E. Norton, Illinois; a sister, Paula Gosha, Illinois; two brothers, Mitch Gosha (Joyce), Illinois, and Van Gosha, Jonesboro; and six grandchildren, Austin, Raven, Destiny, Callie, David and Haven.

Billie Joseph

Billie Lutterloh Joseph, 91, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Saturday, July 15, 2017, at her home.

She was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Searcy, to the late O.J. and Reba Brooks. Billie lived in Jonesboro and raised her family until the passing of her first husband, Paul Lutterloh. She later married her second husband, Dr. Ralph Joseph, and lived in Walnut Ridge with him for several years until his passing. Billie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Walnut Ridge. She was a member of PEO, chapter AJ in Jonesboro and also a life member of the Jonesboro Junior Auxiliary.

Survivors include her sons, Steve (Amy) Lutterloh of Bartlett, Tenn., Brooks (Sherry) Lutterloh of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a daughter, Jean Gramling of Jonesboro; two stepsons, Ralph Joseph II and Bill (Diane) Joseph, both of Little Rock; 14 grandchildren: Chris (Linda) Lutterloh of Jonesboro, Justin (Lori) Gramling of Jonesboro, James Paul (Bonny) Lutterloh of Flagstaff, Ariz., Charles (Sarah) Lutterloh of Hilliard, Ohio, Liana (David) Bowen of Milwaukee, Wis., Whitney (Whitney) Tyler of Kansas City, Mo., Ashley (Mark) Postlethwaite of Chapel Hill, N.C., Meagan (John) Elledge of Bella Vista, Eric Joseph, Zachary Joseph, Alex Joseph, Lauren Joseph, Patrick Joseph and Elizabeth Joseph, all of Little Rock; five great grandchildren: Kimberly, Chas and Lilly Lutterloh, all of Hilliard, Ohio, Taylor Lutterloh of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Liam Campbell of Bella Vista.

Special thanks to caregivers Crystal Shye and Lenora Fleming, and the staff at Home Instead.

A memorial service will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Beth Perdue officiating.

Visitation will be from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Graveside service will be private.

Billy Rush

Billy David Rush, 81, of Walnut Ridge, died July 11, 2017, in Bono.

His wife, Mary Jeannette Rush, also died on July 11, 2017.

Born Aug. 6, 1935, in Palestine, he was the son of Roy Paul and Elza Upshaw Rush. He worked at V&B Woodwork for 30 years and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Walnut Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Deleta Rush; a stepson, Shawn Walker; and four sisters, Myrl Tate, Pearl Thomas, Inus Healey and Dixie Tate.

Survivors include four children, Patricia Morris and husband Randy and Sandra Morgan and husband Jeff, all of Mountain Home, Randy Rush and wife Dian, Coffman, and Kenny Rush and wife Chris, Pocahontas; a stepson, Aaron Walker and wife Donna, Pocahontas; two sisters, Alzetta Bound, Bono and Barbara Davidson, Walnut Ridge; nine grandchildren, Jason and Daniel Morris, Stephanie Arnold, Devin, Logan, Dillon and Colton Morgan, David Rush and Raven Davis; a step-grandson, Spencer Walker; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Walnut Ridge with Patrick Hancock officiating. Burial was in Strangers Home Cemetery. Bryan Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jason Morris, Daniel Morris, David Rush, Logan Morgan, Devin Morgan, Dillon Morgan and Colton Morgan. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Arnold, Randy Rush and Kenny Rush.

Jeannette Rush

Mary Jeannette Hester Rush, 73, of Walnut Ridge, died July 11, 2017. Her husband, Bill Rush, died the same day.

Born Feb. 26, 1944, she had lived in Walnut Ridge since 2005 after moving from Jonesboro. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, where she was active in church activities.

She was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Walker; her parents, Rev. Elmer and Lorene Hester; a sister, Margie Hay; and two brothers, Elmer Hester Jr. and Carl Hester.

Survivors include a son, Aaron Walker and wife Donna, Pocahontas; a daughter-in-law, Sara Walker, Jonesboro; a brother, Gene Hester, Bono; two sisters, Diane Ladwig, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Evonne Trelow, Mount Leonard, Mo.; and a grandson, Spencer.

Funeral was Monday at 11 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Tim Campbell and Rick Hart officiating. Burial was in McDaniel Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Randall Stone

Randall Edward Stone, 50, of Ravenden, died July 15, 2017, at his home.

Born Jan. 24, 1967, in Walnut Ridge, he was a group leader at Waterloo and Darling and was of the Baptist belief. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ravenden #451.

Survivors include a daughter, Felisha Collins, Imboden; his parents, Donald and Mary Price Stone; two brothers, Daniel Stone and wife Carrie and Brian Stone and wife Heather, all of Ravenden; a sister, Belinda Maple and husband Dennis, Portia; and a significant other, Julie VanWinkle, Imboden.

Graveside service is Thursday at 10 a.m. at Powhatan Cemetery with Bro. Lenny Finney officiating. Bryan Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Allen Collins, Brian Stone, Brian Stone Jr., Daniel Stone Jr., David Israel and Kendal Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Phillips, Terry Smith, Danny Israel, Mack Ellis and Harold Hurt.

Terri L. Waldrupe

Terri L. Waldrupe, 32, of Hoxie, died July 12, 2017, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

She was born Aug. 5, 1984.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Earl Raney; a grandmother, Naomi Shelton; and a grandfather, Edison Raney.

Survivors include a son, Scott Liles; a daughter, Haley Waldrupe; her mother, Patsy Raney; her father, Jimmy Waldrupe; two brothers, Chris Raney and wife Makayla, and Rodney Raney; a sister, Melinda Raney; and a grandmother, Ruby Powers.
