Walter "Tink" Williams

Walter "Tink" Williams joined his wife, Lorine Valora Williams in Heaven on July 1, 2017, at the age of 84.

Born on September 29, 1932, he has lived in the Walnut Ridge area his entire life and was of the Baptist belief. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorine Williams; his daughter and son-in-law, who left this world too soon, Loretta and Bob Batterton; parents, Ernest and Florance Riddle Williams; his four brothers, Jack, Ray, Dick and Darnall Williams.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Allen Williams (Lori Tillman) of Walnut Ridge, his daughter Dian Baker (Truel) of Black Rock and his beloved dog, Dog. He loved and adored eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, who will deeply miss his jokes and the tall-tales he shared.

Tink and Lorine were married on March 6, 1976, where he became a stepfather to Connie Light (Jerry), Gerald Manning (Brenda) and Brenda Gaines (Harry). Every person he met with a listening ear was a friend and considered themselves family to Tink Williams.

He was a farmer and then an employee of Lawrence County, where he retired. After retirement, you could find him and Granny in their garden, raising animals or at their roadside stand selling a beautiful variety of homegrown produce. You never stopped for tomatoes without getting a piece of advice and a story or two from him.

Tink would want to be remembered by his giant heart, in which he loved his family so strongly and dearly, his charm, his delicious tomatoes and obviously, his good looks.

Pallbearers will be Shane Cook, Gunner Cook, Jeremy Cunningham, Cory Meadors, Ronald Wheeless and Shawn Woodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Nath Lee Williams, Mac Williams and Boyce Vance Williams.

Visitation was held Tuesday, July 4, from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral is today at 10 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Strangers Home Cemetery in Alicia.

An online guestbook is available at www.housegreggfh.com.
