Hoggard reports on first
six weeks at WR airport
New Walnut Ridge Regional Airport Manager Stacy Hoggard has settled into her new position. With six weeks under her belt, Hoggard has enjoyed seeing the different aircraft and attending many events while representing the airport.
At Monday night's commission meeting, she said her goal is to find ways to get people to visit the airport and treat them with hospitality so they will come back.
Hoggard said she is looking into becoming a member of the Wings Safety Program, which would allow some training to be provided at the airport, bringing in more pilots.
"It's been an exciting time," Hoggard said.
Also at the meeting, the commission:
heard from Hoggard that the removal of the 777 aircraft was complete. She said she was very pleased with the work.
approved an easement to allow Entergy to run a power line at the north end of Highway 980. Commission Chair Don Cavenaugh and Mayor Charles Snapp will give final approval before the line is installed.
voted to continue to use Hyde's for termite and pest control.
renewed a service agreement on the self-service pump.
