Lady Cats have winning week

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats enjoyed a successful week on the softball diamond, earning wins over Marked Tree, Corning, Highland and Hillcrest. Pitcher Baylee Haskins earned the victory in each contest, tossing four complete games.
Walnut Ridge traveled to Marked Tree on Friday and blasted the Lady Indians 15-3.
Offensively, for the Lady Cats, Baylee Davis went 4-for-5, with two doubles and six RBIs. Katie Kersey also went 4-for-5 and had a double and an RBI. Haskins recorded five strikeouts for Walnut Ridge, who improved to 4-1 on the season.
Walnut Ridge routed Corning's Lady Bobcats 12-1 at Corning on Thursday.
Haskins allowed just three hits and struck out nine batters. She also did damage at the plate, going 3-for-4, with a double and driving in three runs.
Shyanne Foley went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Walnut Ridge defeated the Lady Rebels of Highland 6-1 at Highland on March 7. The Lady Cats led 3-1 entering the seventh inning and added three more runs in the top of the inning to make it a 6-1 advantage.
Haskins finished with eight strikeouts from the circle. In the batter's box, she had a double and a home run in four at-bats.
Baylee Burris and Foley each went 2-for-4 for Walnut Ridge.
Foley went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs as the Lady Cats defeated Hillcrest 11-1 on March 6 at Stewart Park.
Also for Walnut Ridge, Davis went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Burris went 2-for-3 and scored four runs.
Haskins allowed six hits and struck out six batters.
