Tips for Tots on go
despite storm damage

Organizers for the Tips for Tots event say the major fundraiser will go on as planned at the Walnut Ridge Country Club Saturday night. This is the plan despite damage sustained to the clubhouse in the storm that passed through early Tuesday morning.

"We're going to pull together and get it cleaned up," said Jennifer Gramling, Circle of Friends chair-elect.

Pictures of the Past

A 1960s scene of the front counter at Baymiller Auto Parts Store in Walnut Ridge was featured in last week's paper. Baymiller's also had a machine shop at this time. Dean Nash (left) and Denton Penn (right) are shown in the machine shop working on an engine valve job. NAPA opened its first store in Atlanta in 1936. Baymiller Auto Parts opened in Walnut Ridge in 1939 and later became associated with NAPA.
