A week of transition
Christmas 2016 will be remembered as one of the mildest, with regard to weather. Christmas Eve, with temperatures in the high 60s, was an ideal day for a walk or jog in the park or a bicycle ride along the Rails to Trails, as experienced by some of our family members. Monday morning, Dec. 26, brought a deluge of rain that caused some flash flooding in a few areas of the county.
For me, this week of the year is often challenging. As we wind down or recover from the celebrations of Christmas, we awake to the reality that the year is also winding down. A year can bring a staggering amount of change, pain, suffering or loss, as well as joy, happiness and gain, and 2016 was no exception.
