in three deaths
A two-vehicle accident north of Sedgwick at 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 resulted in three fatalities according to a preliminary fatal crash summary released by the Arkansas State Police.
Several agencies responded to the scene and the highway was shut down for a period of time after the cars erupted into flames.
According to the report, a 2004 Chevrolet was traveling northbound on Highway 63 when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2016 Dodge head on in the southbound lane.
The female driver in the Chevrolet and the male drive and female passenger in the Dodge were all pronounced dead at the scene, according to Trooper Darren Bates.
Names have not been released pending official verification of identity.
