S-H, Hoxie split games
Sloan-Hendrix hosted Hoxie in high school basketball action Thursday night at Imboden.
Hoxie won the senior girls game 58-20 to even their season record to 1-1. Sydney Gillham led the Lady Mustangs with 19 points, and Devyn Pollard added 16. Caylea Johnson scored seven points to lead Sloan-Hendrix.
The Lady Greyhounds record dropped to 3-6 for the season.
Hoxie won the junior girls game 44-27.
Jadeyn Brown led Hoxie with 17 points, and Peyton Evans added 12.
Sloan-Hendrix was led by Ava Murphy with 10 points.
In senior boys action, Sloan-Hendrix jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and rolled to a 79-36 victory over the Mustangs.
The Greyhounds led 19-9 after one quarter, 50-23 at halftime and 69-30 after three periods.
Colby Johnson led Sloan-Hendrix with 19 points, and Tyler Murphy contributed 15 points. Ben Meigs finished with 11 points, and Jacob Smith had eight points and 11 rebounds for the Greyhounds, who improved to 8-1 with the win.
Diamani Davis led Hoxie with seven points.
Hoxie's junior high boys defeated Sloan-Hendrix 46-40. Tracer Keeling had 15 points, and Ethan Blocker scored 11 for Hoxie.
Garrett Reese had eight points for Sloan-Hendrix.
