With 4:53 to play in the opening quarter, Weir showed off his defensive skills by picking off a Corning pass and returning for a touchdown. Weir then passed to Slade Dalton for the conversion and a 22-0 Walnut Ridge advantage.

First, Luke Harper scored on a three-yard run, and Phillips added the conversion to push the lead to 30-0 at the 8:37 mark of the third. Weir connected with Bounds again, this time for a 49-yard score and the lead grew to 36-0 with 5:31 left in the third quarter.
Walnut Ridge added a touchdown when Harper busted loose for a 55-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. The conversion attempt was no good, leaving the score at 42-0.
