Annual Coffee, BPW
Week events planned
Members of the Walnut Ridge Business & Professional Women's Club will celebrate National Business Women's Week Oct. 16-22. A week of activities has been planned, according to Kelly Aaron, club president.
Events will kickoff on Monday at 7 a.m. with members meeting for breakfast at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where their Woman of the Year will be revealed.
Perhaps the most popular event of the week is the annual BPW Coffee, which will be on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 9-11 a.m. at Main Street Church of Christ. This is a change of location for the Coffee, and members of the community are invited to come and enjoy a sampling of breakfast type foods, desserts, coffee and lots of good fellowship.
Other activities members will enjoy include a membership appreciation night and an opportunity to attend weekly chapel at Williams Baptist College, followed by lunch in the campus cafeteria.
To conclude the week, State President Tracy Eichenberger will host the annual State President's Tea on Saturday in Little Rock. This year Walnut Ridge member and AR/BPW past state president, Diana Shelton, is chair for the State President's Tea and is responsible for planning and coordinating this state event.
All recipients of the Woman of the Year award across the state will be recognized and honored at the tea including the Woman of the Year from Walnut Ridge. Past state presidents will also be honored.
Anyone interested in more information about any of the week's activities can call Aaron at 870-759-2400 or Shelton at 870-759-0421.
