WBC board freezes
Tuition will hold steady at Williams Baptist College next year, following action Friday by the WBC Board of Trustees.

Meeting in regular session, the board voted to forego any tuition increase for the 2017-18 school year.
"We understand that families struggle to pay for college, so we are very pleased to be able to hold the line on tuition for next year," said WBC President Tom Jones. "Williams provides an outstanding education and yet remains one of the most affordable Christian colleges in the nation. It is a great value in higher education."
WR Airport seeking new manager
The Walnut Ridge Regional Airport is seeking applicants for a new airport manager after current manager Maggie Glisson resigned effective
Thursday. Glisson, who is moving out of the area, was hired for the position in May.
Commission Chair Don Cavenaugh said no airport experience is required for the position, instead they are seeking someone who is community service oriented. More specific details about the job's requirements can be found on page 8A in the airport's help wanted advertisement.
Wanting to hire within the county, Cavenaugh encourages all those interested to submit their applications as soon as possible.
Voter registration deadline is Monday
Monday is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 8 General Election. County Clerk Tina Stowers said the office will be open despite the Columbus Day holiday to allow residents the opportunity to register.
The Nov. 8 election will include the presidential race, as well as two congressional positions. Republican John Boozman (incumbent) will face Libertarian Frank Gilbert and Democrat Conner Eldridge for the U.S. Senate seat, and Republican Rick Crawford (incumbent) will face Libertarian Mark West for the U.S. House of Representatives.
In addition, the voters will decide several local races, including the state representative race between Democrat James Ratliff (incumbent) and Republican Fran Cavenaugh.
