To all our guests planning to attend or already here for the Beatles at the Ridge festival, we welcome you and hope your visit is most enjoyable. Friday and Saturday's events mark the fifth year for the festival, which commemorates the Beatles landing at the Walnut Ridge Airport in 1964.
It is fast becoming a tradition for Walnut Ridge High School graduates to meet for class reunions or to have more informal gatherings during this festival weekend. If you stroll through the crowd, you are sure to see many old friends, former schoolmates and former residents.
Pictures of the Past
Ringo Starr (foreground) and John Lennon walk between a crowd gathered at the Walnut Ridge Airport on the morning of Sept. 20, 1964, to see The Beatles as they returned to their plane. The photo is one of several that were taken that day by Newell A. Mock Sr. The annual Beatles at the Ridge festival, which commemorates the 1964 visit, is this weekend in downtown Walnut Ridge.
