Chelsea Arden Brown

Tyler and Michelle Brown of Jonesboro have announced the birth of a daughter on Aug. 4, 2016, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, 13 ounces, and has been named Chelsea Arden Brown.

Grandparents are Phillip and Catherine Brown and Jerry and Debbi Lamb, all of Jonesboro.

Great-grandparents are Betty Little of Walnut Ridge, Curtis and Lily Lamb of Hoxie and Earlene Brown of Jonesboro.

Frankie Joe Boozer

Frankie Joe Boozer, 65, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 22, 2016, at his home.

Born July 8, 1951, in Newport, he served in the U.S. Army and was a retired engineer. He was of the Church of Christ belief.

He was preceded in death by a son, Cooley Boozer; and his father, James Boozer.

Survivors include his wife, Zarina Muradova Boozer, whom he married July 23, 2009 in Dubai, U.A.E; three daughters, Elizabeth Boozer, Newport, Makenzie Boozer, Richland, Wash., and Selbi Muradova, of the home; a son, Jon Muradova, of the home; his mother, Mary Wayland Boozer, Walnut Ridge; two sisters, Connie Rose and husband Larry, Rogersville, Mo., and Debi Hart and husband Blake, Walnut Ridge; and two grandchildren, Starr Boozer and Ari Boozer.

Funeral is today at 11 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home with Robert Combs officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Louisa F. Holsapple

Louisa F. Holsapple, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Aug. 20, 2016, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born July 19, 1925, in Ravenden, she was the daughter of John F. and Rosa Staggs Bristol. She enjoyed going to church, working in her yard, sewing and gardening, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira C. Holsapple, on Feb. 12, 1985, whom she married April 12, 1946; four sisters, Kathleen Bristol, Veda Walker, Juanita Rutledge and Mary Jane Gray; and three brothers, Harvey Bristol, Tom Bristol and John Bristol.

Survivors include five children, Judy Lee and husband Dennis, Dexter, Mo., John Holsapple and wife Ruth, Walnut Ridge, Henry Holsapple and Julia Alexander, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Herbie Holsapple and wife Lisa, Corning; two brothers, Darold Bristol and wife Pat, Rockford, Ill., and James Bristol and wife Carol, Jacksonville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is today from noon until 2 p.m. at Cotrell Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with her son, Herbert L. Holsapple officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Florean Ivie

Florean Ivie, 79, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 17, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Born July 2, 1937, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Markus Guy and Dora Ann Davis Hancock. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal belief. She enjoyed singing and playing the accordion and piano.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Survivors include two sons, Markus Ellison and wife Sherry, and Rex Ellison, all of Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Laury McGinty and husband Terry, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Mame Baker, Illinois; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Bro. David Moore officiating. Burial was in Lorado Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Ham, Matt McQuay, Tyler Ellison, Christian Ellison, Dalton Ellison, Allen Blackwell and Sam Holder.

Kimberly Kay Martin

Kimberly Kay Trout Martin, 54, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 18, 2016, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Feb. 21, 1962, in Piggott, she was the daughter of Howard Ray Trout and Vondala Holifield Underwood.

Survivors include her husband, Keith Martin; two sons, Logan Keith Martin and wife Courtney, Colorado, and Kaleb Joshua Martin, Walnut Ridge; her mother, Vondala Underwood and husband Joe, Paragould; a brother, Mark Trout and wife Karen, Piggott; and three sisters, Becky Johnson and husband Carl, Pollard, Susie Fincher and husband Dave, Piggott, and Melanie Herrera and husband Ray, Paragould.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott with Jake Guenrich officiating. Burial was in Cummins Chapel Cemetery at Pollard.

Pallbearers were Kirk Trout, Josh McKay, Kyle McKay, Michael Martin, Johnny Madden, Michael Holder, Jake Holder, Scott Martin and Tyler Armstrong.

Beatrice Smith

Beatrice Duncan Smith, 90, of Swifton, died Aug. 22, 2016, at her home.

Born Nov. 18, 1925, in Cushman, she was the daughter of Walter Lee and Nancy Josephine Bales Duncan. She lived most of her life in Walnut Ridge and Swifton and was a member of Abiding Faith Church in Swifton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Talmadge Eugene Smith, whom she married July 10, 1944; a daughter, Vialeata Ross; a son, Larry Gene Smith; three sisters, Rosie Casper, Aileen Moody and Gladys Tinker; a grandson, Dustin John David Cochran; and a great-great-grandson, Bennett Chase Armour.

Survivors include five sons, Michael Smith and wife Louise, Richard Smith and wife Nan, and Ronald Smith and wife Jackie, all of Georgia, and Danny Smith and wife Pam, Keith Smith and wife Teresa, all of Walnut Ridge; seven daughters Carolyn Johnson and husband Doug, Kathy Gilbert, Pam Jones, Vickie Gunnin and husband Randy, Brenda Drake and husband Chris, all of Georgia, Anneata Drost and husband Brian, and Paula Cole and husband Tim, all of Swifton; a sister, Minervia Smith, Cave City; two brothers, Bobby Duncan, Arkansas, and Benny Duncan, North Carolina; 35 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren; and a special friend and caregiver; Kathy Jones.

Funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Abiding Faith Church in Swifton. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery at Portia with Doug Johnson Sr. and Rick Hart officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Keith Smith, Ronald Smith, Ryan Cole, Drake Slagley, Austin Slagley, Josh Cochran and Chris Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Smith, Jake Smith, Justin Smith, Doug Johnson Jr., Paul Johnson, Harvey Jones Jr. and Mike Ross.

Mary Una Stogsdill

Mary Una Stogsdill, 94, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of Eaton, died Aug. 16, 2016, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Stogsdill; and her parents, Charles and Clara Hilburn.

She was a member of the Bayside Church of Christ and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 392 in Virginia Beach.

Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Stogsdill, Virginia Beach; a son, Tim Stogsdill and Cindy, Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bayside Church of Christ with Mike Lucas officiating. Holloman-Brown Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
