Michael Gene Baker

Michael Gene Baker, 62, of Bono, formerly of Alicia, died June 28, 2016, at his home.

Born June 4, 1954, in Newport, he was the son of Donald and Iona Felton Baker. He was a farmer, partner in Coffman Baker Enterprises and a member of the Alicia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Baker; two sons, Jonathan Baker, Alicia, and Justin Baker, Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, David Baker, Alicia; two sisters, Martha Edwards, Tuckerman, and Marie Breedlove, Swifton; and five grandchildren.

Memorial service will be announced later by Bryan Funeral Home.

Bonnie Jean Cain

Bonnie Jean Cain, 64, of Hoxie died June 23, 2016, at the St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born April 15, 1952, in Aurora, Ill., she was the daughter of Doyle and Wavie Evans Hatman. She was a teacher and coordinator of the Northeast Arkansas Educational Co-Op and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her father, Doyle Hatman, and her stepfather, Arvil Watts.

Survivors include her husband, Alvie Leon Cain Jr., whom she married Aug. 27, 1971; her mother, Wavie Watts, Hoxie; three sons, Willis Cain and wife Jodi, Walnut Ridge, Russ Cain and wife Jessica, Hoxie, and Ben Cain and wife Krissy, Lynn; two sisters, Janet Lopez, Phoenix, Ariz., and Lisa Molina, Bolder Hill, Ill.; a brother, Bill Watts, Corning; and five grandchildren.

Funeral service was Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Bryan Chapel with Rob Combs officiating. Burial was in the Arnold Cemetery at Swifton.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Lena Corrine Clayton

Lena Corrine Clayton, 75, of Pocahontas, died June 23, 2016, at the Med in Memphis.

Born Jan. 11, 1941, in Myrtle, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Elsie and Ollie Renfrow Gullick.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Kenny and Jeffrey Clayton; two sisters, Edna Garner and Betty Smith; and three brothers, Kyle Starkey, Gene Gullick and Quay Gullick.

Survivors include her children: Carolyn Rorex and husband Terry, Kelly Vrettos and husband Nick, Jeff Clayton and wife Traci; two brothers, Sam Gullick and Jimmy Gullick; five grandchildren, Clifford Rorex, Enid Olvey, Elizabeth McQuay, Miranda Clayton, Jackson Clayton; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Dr. Rockey Starnes officiating. Burial was Sunday in Hopewell Cemetery in New Albany, Miss.

Relton H. Forehand

Relton H. Forehand, 92, of the Clear Lake Community, died June 24, 2016, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 2, 1923, to Almus and Cratie Starnes Forehand in the Clear Lake Community, where he lived and farmed his entire life. He was a deacon of the Clear Lake Free Will Baptist Church for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loyse Pulliam Forehand, whom he married Dec. 6, 1946; and a sister, Liberty Pulliam.

Survivors include a son, Harold Forehand and significant other Debbie Bookout, Walnut Ridge; two daughters, Janet Tate and husband Robert, North Little Rock, and JoCarol Phillips and husband Mike, Walnut Ridge; a sister, Joyce Holder and husband Edward, Conway, a sister-in-law, Vida Rosselot, Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren, Jonathan Surles, Amy Hamann, Craig Phillips, Cameo Forehand; and six great-grandsons.

Funeral service will be today at 10 a.m. at House-Gregg Chapel with Glenn Smith and Tim Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

James David Mitchell

James "Jim" David Mitchell, 61, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died June 16, 2016.

Born Jan. 5, 1955, in Imboden, he was the son of the late John and Modene Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanna Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Apple Suwanna Mitchell; three sons and two daughters, James David (Michele) Mitchell Jr., Round Rock, Texas, John Wilson Mitchell III, Grand Prairie, Texas, Mary Elizabeth (Mark) Barata of Long Beach, Calif., Adisorn Jiriyasin and Nattakan Jiriyasin, both of Bangkok, Thailand; a brother, John (Carole) Mitchell, Mountain Grove, Mo., two sisters, Mariglee (Jakie) Liebhaber, Cornelius, N.C., and Virginia (Rickey) Goff, Smithville; and nine grandchildren, Brittanei, Anthonei, Everlei, John IV, Kayleigh, Austin, Jaeden, Jack and Mark Paul II.

A memorial service was held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Danny Mitchell officiating.

Carolyn Katherine Patterson

Carolyn Katherine Patterson, 72, of Floral died June 27, 2016.

Born March 6, 1944, in Walnut Ridge, she attended the New Bethel Baptist Church in Floral. She enjoyed life on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Kathern Gentry Sinks.

Survivors include her husband, David Patterson; a son Tommy Walker and wife Edie, Little Rock; a daughter, LouAnn Hawks and husband Jeffery, Maumelle; three sisters, Peggy Woodard, Linda Walker and Brenda Pemberton; six grandchildren, Will Walker, Morgan Hawks, Katie Hawks, Aaron Walker, Ally Walker and Thomas Walker.

Visitation will be Friday from 10-11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Randy Altom officiating. Burial will follow at the Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

Bonnie Jean Pickrell

Bonnie Jean Pickrell, 82, of Walnut Ridge, died June 22, 2016, at the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born April 8, 1934, in Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of Cicero and Eddie Slatton Prater. She was also a homemaker and a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Prater and Paul Prater.

Survivors include her husband, Buck Pickrell, whom she married Nov. 4, 1950; a son, Terry Pickrell and wife Alice, Walnut Ridge; a brother, Sam Prater, Walnut Ridge; a granddaughter, Amy Schrock; a grandson, Terry Pickrell Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Friday at 2 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Bro. Derek Collins and Terry Pickrell Jr. officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Robbie Allen, Don and Dillon Sharp, Allan Whitmire, Dewayne Barker and Fred Herring.

Raylon Eugene Powers

Raylon Eugene Powers Sr., 77, of Walnut Ridge died June 26, 2016, at his home.

Born Oct. 21, 1938, in O'Kean he was the son of William Thomas and Nora Lee Hudson Powers. He was a successful businessman in Walnut Ridge since 1969. He was a television technician, owner of Moni's Grill and a member of Cache River Pentecostal Church in Sedgwick.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Andrew Powers, Herman Ray Powers and Clifford Thomas Powers.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Sue McQuay Powers, whom he married Sept. 26, 1973, in Jonesboro; three sons, Raylon Eugene Powers Jr., Hoxie, Chuck Gray, Smithville, Joe Anthony Gray (Patty), Walnut Ridge; three daughters, Peggy Sue Gorecki, Tina Kaye Woodworker (Robin), and Lana Gray, all of Walnut Ridge; seven grandchildren, Lori Dionne Gray, Monica Leanne Long, Joshua Charles Gray, Tia Michelle Stephens, Raylon Allen Powers, Stevie Christina Raye Woodworker, Cody Tyler Randolph Woodworker; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be today at 10 a.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge with Rick Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers are Joshua Gray, Bryson Long, Robin Woodworker, Jeremy Powers, Larry Williams and Boyce Dixon. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Collier and Lester Hancock.

Morgan Leroy Roberts

Morgan Leroy Roberts, 83, of Conway, formerly of Smithville, died June 22, 2016, at Conway Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 25, 1932, in McRae, he was the son of Lonnie and Mae White Roberts. He was a retired welder, and served in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Ann Jones Roberts, whom he married Oct. 13, 1977, in Little Rock; a stepdaughter, Cecil Lee Stanley; a sister, Billie Ruth Roberts Strawn; and a brother, Kenneth Roberts.

Survivors include three sons, Raymond Leroy Roberts of Bee Branch, Morgan Dale Roberts of Mablevale and Aubry Glen Roberts of Little Rock; three brothers; Lester R. Roberts Sr. and Clarence Glen Roberts, both of Little Rock, and Ricky Nelson Roberts of Smackover; a sister, Henrietta Sue Taseltine of Hamilton, Ohio; a stepson, Thomas David Stanley of Little Rock; two stepsisters, Jan Worley Hunter of Little Rock and Barbara Fisher of Lonsdale; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge with Billy Kelly officiating. Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge had charge of arrangements.

William Daniel Rowsey

William Daniel "Danny" Rowsey, 68, of Black Rock, died June 24, 2016, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born Dec. 5, 1947, in Jonesboro, he was the son of Bill and Louise Stewart Rowsey.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Rowsey; a son, Bill Rowsey and wife Starlia; a daughter, Danette Murphy and husband Patrick; his mother, Louise Rowsey; a sister, Debbie Hottell and husband Mike; seven grandchildren: Hannah Rowsey, Rodney James, Daniel Rowsey, Jessie James, Kyle Murphy, Tyler Murphy and Jessica Murphy.

Funeral service was Tuesday at 10 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Clements officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.
