Change and
growth in
our midst

We are definitely in the midst of change and growth in our area. With Peco Foods and American Silica in the early stages or brink of starting production, we are seeing other announcements and an upturn in economic development.

County, city and Chamber of Commerce officials, in cooperation with numerous individuals and other entities, appear to be working together more than ever before to take full advantage of any potential business opportunities.

Pictures of the Past

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Colbert, early settlers in Lawrence County, stand in front of their house, which was located where Moni's Grill is now. Sterling Woods' dry cleaning business was located across the street from their home in the 1930s when this photo was made. (Pictures of the Past is a cooperative effort of The Times Dispatch and the Lawrence County Historical Society. Readers are encouraged to submit historic photos.)
