Effort to clear outstanding
warrants netting results
An effort to address numerous outstanding warrants in Lawrence County District Court is well underway.
As of March 30, 70 of the 358 warrants had been removed from the outstanding warrants list. Two warrants were removed due to death, while 49 warrants have been served and 19 warrants were recalled due to payment of fines. A total of $10,905.80 in outstanding fines have been collected.
The next phase of the effort is public notice of those who are still on the outstanding warrant list. The city of Walnut Ridge is publishing its list in this week's edition of The Times Dispatch. The city of Hoxie and county lists will be published in upcoming editions.
Those who are on the list can have their warrant served at the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, located in the Lawrence County Courthouse in Walnut Ridge, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Fines can be paid at the District Court Clerk's Office, located at 116 Northwest Third Street in Walnut Ridge.
