Lady Cats compete in

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats softball team traveled to Heber Springs on Saturday to compete in the Rumble in the Jungle tournament. The Lady Cats dropped their first two contests before rallying to win their final two, finishing 2-2 on the day.
Walnut Ridge began the day with a 14-3 loss to Concord. Baylee Burris and Alyssa Jones each had a hit.
Next, the Lady Cats were edged by Rison 6-5 in a four-inning game.
Rison led 3-2 after two innings, but Walnut Ridge rallied for three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 5-3 lead. Rison scored three runs in their final at-bat to take the win.
For Walnut Ridge, Jones went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Baylee Haskins hit a solo home run. Whitney Rider had a hit and scored two runs. Maggie Jackson had a hit, an RBI and scored a run. Briley Henson had a hit and an RBI, and Baylee Davis went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
The Lady Cats earned their first win of the day when Haskins tossed a three-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Des Arc.
Walnut Ridge scored five runs in the first inning, three in the second and two in the third.
Haskins also delivered at the plate, going 3-for-4, including a triple, with an RBI and scoring a run. Henson hit a home run and had three RBIs and scored a run. Davis went 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored two runs. Burris had a hit and scored two runs. Rider added a solo homer. Jackson had a double, two RBIs and scored a run. Jones and Megan Jared each scored a run.
Walnut Ridge finished the day with another win, as Haskins held Palestine-Wheatley to one hit in a 10-0 victory.
The Lady Cats scored four runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning.
Jackson led Walnut Ridge at the plate, batting 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Burris went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and scored two runs. Davis went 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored a run. Henson had a double and a triple, two RBIs and scored a run. Haskins and Rider each had two hits and scored two runs. Jones had a hit and scored a run, and Jared scored a run.
The Lady Bobcats traveled to Mammoth Spring on Friday and defeated the Lady Bears 18-2 in five innings.
Haskins allowed just two hits, while recording seven strikeouts. At the plate, she had two hits and drove in four runs.
Also for Walnut Ridge, Jared had a hit, four RBIs and scored two runs. Burris had two hits and scored three runs. Jackson went 2-for-2 and scored two runs. Jones went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored three runs. D'Anna Girard scored three runs, and Rider had an RBI. Henson had a hit, an RBI and scored four runs.
Walnut Ridge lost to Tuckerman 6-1 in 2A-2 Conference action on Thursday at Walnut Ridge.
Tuckerman led just 1-0 after four innings, but plated four runs in the top of the fifth inning to stretch the lead to 5-0. Walnut Ridge scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth. The Lady Bulldogs added an insurance run in the sixth inning.
For Walnut Ridge, Jackson had a hit and an RBI, and Jared had a hit and scored a run. Haskins had a double, while Rider and Davis also had hits.
Haskins pitched a complete game, allowing six runs on 18 hits, and striking out four batters.
Walnut Ridge routed Sloan-Hendrix 23-1 in a conference matchup on March 15 at Imboden.
The Lady Bobcats broke on top with six runs in the top of the first inning, then exploded for 13 runs in the second inning. Walnut Ridge added four runs in the third inning. Sloan-Hendrix could only manage one run in the bottom of the third, ending the game via the run rule.
Jared and Haskin led the Walnut Ridge offense, each going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scoring three runs. Rider went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and scored four runs. Davis went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and scored three runs. Jackson had a hit and scored two runs. Jones had a hit and two RBIs, and Burris scored four runs. Henson had a hit and scored two runs, and Girard scored two runs.
Haskins earned the win in the circle.
