Airport Commission sets
The Walnut Ridge Regional Airport Commission discussed several improvement opportunities at Monday night's meeting. In addition to physical improvements, such as clean ups, the commission also discussed financial goals.
Samuel Jones, 18-month-old son of Matt and Jamie Jones of Imboden, enjoys getting pulled by his father through the approximately five inches of snow that fell at his home. Much of Lawrence County received two to four inches of snow, with some areas getting up to six inches.
After freezing rain left the county ice coated during the middle of last week, residents hunkered down in preparation for several inches of snow that fell Thursday night and continued some on Friday.
Thursday night's storm brought two to four inches of snow to most of the county with up to six inches reported in some areas.
All county schools closed Wednesday, Jan. 20, and remained closed through the rest of the week.
Circuitous path brings Bro. Tim
Bro. Timothy Campbell and his wife, Janie Williams Campbell, have come full circle, returning to their home county after almost 30 years. They returned to Walnut Ridge the latter part of 2015, when he became pastor at First Free Will Baptist Church, the church that his father, the late Bro. Glynn Campbell, started in 1952.

"It's a dream come true to pastor my home church," Tim said. "I never sought to leave Walnut Ridge."
Tim fondly recalled his childhood and youth and spoke with gratitude for the many individuals and experiences that have shaped his life.
Accident results in one fatalityA one-vehicle accident on Thursday at 9:39 p.m. resulted in the death of a Hoxie woman, according to Cpl. Anthony Dail with the Arkansas State Police.
Lacey Dawn Dobbs, 25, was driving northbound on Hwy. 63, two miles south of Hoxie, in a 2000 Ford, when the vehicle crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and then entered the southbound ditch and overturned.
