Hoxie has split week
The Corning Bobcats defeated the Hoxie Mustangs 32-24 in 3A-3 Conference basketball action Friday night at Mustang Gym.
Hoxie led 9-3 at the end of the first quarter and 17-12 at halftime. Corning outscored the Mustangs 10-4 in the third quarter to take a 22-21 lead entering the fourth quarter, and maintained control in the final period, outscoring Hoxie 10-3.
Wesley Wright led Hoxie with 11 points.
Corning won the junior boys game 48-20.
S-H beats Mammoth
The Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds held off the Mammoth Spring Bears to earn a 68-67 win in senior boys basketball action Friday night at Imboden.
The Greyhounds led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter and 35-32 at halftime, but trailed 54-53 entering the fourth quarter. Sloan-Hendrix outscored the Bears 15-13 in the final period to claim the victory.
Bobcats beat Pangburn, Midland
Walnut Ridge hosted the Pangburn Tigers in 2A-2 Conference basketball action Friday night at Sharum Gymnasium.
The Walnut Ridge senior boys routed Pangburn 63-33.
The Bobcats led 17-13 after one quarter and 28-19 at halftime. Walnut Ridge dominated the second half, stretching the lead to 50-28 at the end of the third quarter and outscoring the Tigers 13-5 in the final period.
S-H sweeps Hoxie
Hoxie hosted Sloan-Hendrix for an evening of high school basketball action on Dec. 8 at Mustang Gym.
Colby Johnson scored 28 points to lead Sloan-Hendrix to an 80-46 victory in the senior boys contest.
