Mustangs fall to Trumann
The visiting Trumann Wildcats handed Hoxie's senior boys a 71-49 loss in high school basketball action on Nov. 23.
Trumann led 28-8 at halftime and 49-32 entering the fourth quarter.
Paul Adamson led the Mustangs with 11 points
Greyhounds record wins
Tyler Murphy scored 28 points, and Colby Johnson added 25 points as the Sloan-Hendrix senior boys outlasted the Midland Mustangs for a hard-earned 84-81 overtime victory in 2A-2 Conference action Nov. 25 at Pleasant Plains.
Midland led 17-16 after one quarter, but the Greyhounds fought their way into a 35-34 halftime advantage. The Mustangs regained the lead at 54-50 at the end of the third quarter, but Sloan-Hendrix was able to tie the contest at 71-71 at the end of regulation. The Hounds outscored Midland 13-10 in overtime to take the win.
Bobcats earn win at Salem
The Walnut Ridge senior boys basketball team traveled to Salem on Nov. 24 to face the Greyhounds in 2A-2 Conference action. The Bobcats made short work of the Greyhounds, coming away with a 66-27 victory.
Walnut Ridge led 17-8 after one quarter, 32-15 at halftime and 57-20 entering the fourth quarter.
Hillcrest teams fall to Bay
The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles traveled to Bay to face the Yellowjackets in non-conference high school basketball action on Nov. 24.
The Bay senior boys jumped out to a big early lead and went on to defeat Hillcrest 60-29. The Yellowjackets led 28-10 after one quarter and 43-16 at halftime.
S-H girls continue win streak
The Sloan-Hendrix senior girls basketball team ran their 2A-2 Conference record to 4-0 with a 49-34 win over the Midland Lady Mustangs Nov. 24 at Midland.
The game was close in the first half, with Sloan-Hendrix holding a 22-16 lead at the intermission. The Lady Greyhounds outscored Midland 16-9 in the third quarter to stretch the advantage to 38-25 after three quarters.
