sets lease standards
The Walnut Ridge Airport Commission approved the use of a uniform three-year lease for both hangar and hut leases prepared by Bob Johnson with General Aviation Consulting Services.
The commission has been working toward bringing all lease agreements into Federal Aviation Administration compliance.
New lease agreements will also be adjusted to require tenants under Municipal League Insurance through the airport to pay the full year's amount up front. Previously the amount had been broken down into smaller payment installments throughout the year on certain leases, which left the airport to pay the full amount, only to be gradually reimbursed.
Commission Chair Don Cavenaugh said these standards will be used in all new and renewed leases at the airport.
Also at the meeting, commissioners:
authorized Cavenaugh to sign off on an inspection of the new PAPI System, a light system used to safely guide in airplanes, at the cost of approximately $8,600. The system still requires FAA certification before it can be used.
approved the transfer of certain deeds to Walnut Ridge that had been previously shifted to the commission. The transfer back to Walnut Ridge was in order to meet compliance.
approved a one-year lease with West Machine.
reviewed the 2016 proposed budget. The budget will be presented again in December, where it will be voted on.
approved a three-month extension on a building lease held by Ed Lawson.
