Best wishes
for a Happy

If the thought of the holidays, Thanksgiving through New Year's Day, makes you feel overwhelmed, stressed or depressed, then I recommend you read Sarah Shell Teague's collection of essays, "Have Yourself a Hamster Little Christmas."

As announced, Sarah will be in at The Times Dispatch in Walnut Ridge on Friday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. selling and autographing copies of her new book.

Pictures of the Past

This street scene of Imboden looks east along West Third Street in 1912. A dirt road at the time, it would later become U.S. Highway 63. The home on the near left belonged to Dr. Edward N.F. Sullivan, a dentist. It was located where the First Baptist Church of Imboden stands today. The home on the near right belonged to Quint and Eliza Jones. Mr. Jones was a livestock dealer in Imboden. (Pictures of the Past is a cooperative effort of The Times Dispatch and the Lawrence County Historical Society. Readers are encouraged to submit historic photos.)
