WBC breaks ground on Belle HallConstruction of a new residence hall is about to commence at Williams Baptist College. A ground-breaking ceremony for the 43-bed Belle Hall was held Friday, with completion expected next fall.
"We have reached capacity and are currently utilizing overflow housing for our men, and we are nearing capacity in our women's residence halls. This new facility addresses those issues and allows WBC's resident student population to keep growing," said Williams President Dr. Tom Jones.
County working to help ExtensionLawrence County Extension Service staff visited with quorum court justices again Monday night to request consideration be made while planning the 2016 budget to help the Extension offset a nearly $40,000 deficit.
Courthouse on national register,
The Lawrence County Courthouse was recently nominated by the State Review Board of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program to the National Register of Historic Places.
