Mustangs run to 34-0
victory over Melborne
The Hoxie duo of James Johnson and Diamani Davis was more than the Melbourne Bearkatz could handle in the Mustangs' 34-0 victory Friday night at Crider Field.
Johnson, the Mustangs' senior signal caller, rushed 29 times for 162 yards and four touchdowns, while Davis, a sophomore running back, gained 155 yards and scored one touchdown on 24 carries.
Defense leads Bobcats to win
The Cross County Thunderbirds may have kept Walnut Ridge's offense out of the end zone Friday night, but the Bobcats' defense rose to the occasion and scored two touchdowns to give Walnut Ridge a 12-6 victory in a 2A-3 showdown at Sexton Field.
Hoxie, WR split games in volleyball action
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs and the Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats squared off in 3A Northeast volleyball action on Sept. 29 at Hoxie in Mustangs Gymnasium. The Lady Mustangs defeated their cross-town rivals in a four-set match 25-20, 28-26, 17-25, 26-24.
Lady Cats record wins
Walnut Ridge hosted the Midland Lady Mustangs in a 3A Northeast volleyball match Thursday at Sharum Gymnasium. The Lady Bobcats defeated their visitors in straight sets 25-9, 25-7, 25-14.
Lady Mustangs beat CRA
Hoxie's Lady Mustangs traveled to Paragould to take on Crowley's Ridge Academy in 3A Northeast Conference volleyball action on Thursday.
