Rutledge hosts round table in WR
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge was in Walnut Ridge Tuesday afternoon to meet with area leaders in what she refers to as a Rutledge Roundtable.
"We started these Rutledge Roundtables based on a lesson I learned while flagging traffic during the summers when I was in college," Rutledge said

American Silica, Inc., a fracturing plant located north of Black Rock, is set to start production in early 2016, according to County Judge Dale Freeman.

Williams dedicates Joy Ring Center
Williams Baptist College paid tribute Friday to Joy Ring, the institution's longest serving professor, with the dedication of the new Joy Ring Student Success Center. Ring, who is professor of business, has served on the Williams faculty since 1965.
Heritage trail planned in WR
The first of many historic plaques to be featured in a heritage trail in Walnut Ridge was presented during the Beatles at the Ridge music festival on Sept. 19. Sponsored by MEB Trailer Manufacturing, the plaque tells of Washboard Sam, his history and his significance to the community.
Yates seeks re-election
Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Yates has announced that he will seek re-election.
Currently in his first term, Yates will be on the 2016 Democratic Primary ballot on March 1.
