Ryker Wade Anglin

Heather Smith and Austin Anglin of Hoxie have announced the birth of a son, born Aug. 5, 2015, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed eight pounds, 11 ounces, and has been named Ryker Wade Anglin. He has two older siblings, Caden Lavespere, six, and Payton Lavespere, three.

Grandparents are Bo and Wilma Baney of Cave City, Sonny Anglin and Angie Wilson, both of Hoxie, and David and Mary Smith of Jonesboro.

Great-grandparents are Glendon and Melba Smith of Biggers, Leland and Lourine Baney of Cave City, Sonny and Sue Anglin and Richard and Brenda Turner, all of Hoxie.

Weddings/Engagements

Cox ~ Week

With the Rocky Mountains as the background, Lyndsey Cox and Chance Weeks were united in marriage in an outdoor ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Evergreen Memorial Park in Golden, Colo.

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Catherine Cox of Golden, Colo. She is a five-year veteran with the United States Navy.

The bridegroom is the son of Fred and Susan Weeks of Walnut Ridge. He is employed as an engineer for Kiewit Power Constructors in Lexington Park, Md.

A reception was held after the ceremony at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Following a wedding trip to Barceló Bávaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are now residing in Lexington Park, Md.

Barbara Gay Hackworth

Barbara Gay Douglas Hackworth, 69, of Walnut Ridge, died July 28, 2015, at her home.

Born March 20, 1946, she was a cook and a longtime resident of Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James David Douglas Sr. and Doyle Wayne Hackworth; her parents, Jesse Lynn and Bessie Blanche Bowman Richards; a brother, Leon Richards; and three sisters, Carrie Herwig, Wanda Gualandi and Phyllis Knutson.

Survivors include three sons, James David Douglas Sr., Roger Lynn Douglas and Wink Hackworth Sr.; three daughters, Kelly Jo Riggs and husband Ricky, Diana LaVerne Passmore and husband Darrell, and Cindy Ann Johnson; three sisters, Dova Dodson, Vada Ward and Judy Dodson; grandchildren, Sarah Douglas, Amelia Arellano, Wink Hackworth Jr., Valerie Cullum, Destiny Passmore, Ryann Douglas, Rhoni Riggs and Alley Riggs; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Everett Hart officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Gardens at Pocahontas.

Pallbearers were Luis Arellano, Wink Hackworth Sr., Ricky Riggs, Cody Passmore, Michael Cullum and Jordan Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Passmore, Wink Hackworth Jr., Jody Hutcherson and John Stowers Jr.

Laura Elizabeth Rainwater

Laura Elizabeth Rainwater, 83, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 5, 2015, at her home.

Born July 21, 1932, in Rock Springs, Wyo., she was the daughter of Benjamin and Eva Lee Reynolds Garrison. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a member of the O'Kean Church of Christ. She was a longtime cook for the Polar Freeze and the Ozark Folk Center, and also worked at Alamo Court.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Stroud; a grandson, Rodney Stormes; two great-grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Rainwater; four daughters, Faye Stormes and husband Danny, Barbara Thompson and husband Britt, Sandra Hathcoat and husband Gene, and Iola Herschell and husband Greg; five sons, Clay Stroud and wife Suzie, Frank Stroud and wife Wayvon, Stanley Rainwater and wife Laverne, Terry Rainwater, and Randy Rainwater and wife Angela; a sister, Shirley Smith, 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at noon at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Phillip Rainwater officiating.

Pallbearers were Matt Gillean, James Gillean, Jeremy Downum, Drew Rainwater, Alan Rainwater, Leslie Stroud and Joshua Stroud.

Memorials may be made to The Children's Home and Legacy Hospice.

Ray L. Russell

Ray L. Russell, 92, of Rockford, Ill., died July 27, 2015.

Born Aug. 12, 1922, at Eaton, he was the son of Jasper D. and Callie Blackwell Russell. He was a World War II Army veteran and was retired from Barber-Colman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willene E. Endsley, on May 14, 1989, whom he married April 3, 1944, in Walnut Ridge; his stepmother, Eva Russell; three brothers, Claude Ingram, JD Russell and Bill Russell; and three sisters, Marie Baker, Marg Harkey and Carrie Sue Bollinger.

Survivors include a son, Tony Russell and wife Pam; two brothers, Delon Russell and Jim Russell; and a grandson, Rob Russell.

Funeral was Monday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at Delehanty Funeral Home in Loves Park, Ill. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park, Ill.
