Hillcrest Middle School's Archery Team participated in the NASP World Archery Tournament on July 23. Hillcrest archery team competes
in world tournament
Members of the Hillcrest Middle School Archery Team competed in the NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) World Archery Tournament on July 23 held at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Hillcrest finished 17th in the competition out of 90 middle school teams that competed. The World tournament was comprised of archery teams from the United States, England, Namibia, South Africa and Canada. The Hillcrest team finished first out of the other Arkansas middle school archery teams that competed in the World tournament.
The Hillcrest team advanced to the 2015 World NASP Tournament after finishing 15th in the national tournament that was held in May. Previously the team took second in the Arkansas State Tournament in March and first in the regional tournament in February.
Hillcrest eighth-grade student Paige Penn led the Screamin' Eagles at the NASP World Archery Tournament.
Penn placed sixth out of 959 Middle School Girls with a score of 289. She is the daughter of Phillip and Danette Penn.
