4-H'ers compete in shooting event
The Lawrence County 4-H Shooting Sports team traveled to the C.A Vines 4-H Center in Little Rock for the annual 4-H Range Events.
Participants from all over the state came together to test their marksmanship skills against one another in events such as archery, .22 rifle, air rifle, air pistol, shotgun and muzzleloader. Senior participants (ages 14-19) can participate in the .22 pistol event. The winning teams in each event earn the right to represent Arkansas at the national event in Nebraska.
Lawrence County team members placed well in several events. Austin Brawley placed 27th out of 138 in senior shotgun event, while David Burrow placed ninth out of 137 in junior shotgun. The senior team placed 17th in the .22 pistol competition.
Membership in the Lawrence County 4-H Shooting Sports club is open to all youth from ages 9-19. Members must pass the Arkansas Hunters Education course and be enrolled in 4-H.
