Murphy to retire after
47 years in healthcare

Shirley Murphy has announced her plans to retire from a 47-year career in healthcare. Currently serving as clinic manager over the Family Medical Center and Imboden Clinic at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, she began her career with the hospital in July 1995, when the hospital purchased the Ralph Joseph Clinic.

"Shirley has made invaluable contributions to the hospital during her years," said Junior Briner, chief operating officer. "We are happy that she will be able to retire and enjoy some downtime, but we will miss her every day."

A drop-in reception has been planned for Friday from 2-4 p.m. in the Ralph Joseph Education Building. All family and friends are invited to attend.

"Once in awhile one is blessed to work with someone like Shirley who has a tremendous work ethic and is extraordinarily faithful, dedicated and loyal," Briner said. "We have had that blessing for several years, and we thank her for all she has contributed to healthcare for sure, but also just as a valued employee and friend to so many."
