Everly Kate Dean

Neal and Chrissy Dean of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of a daughter, born on May 26, 2015, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed five pounds, six ounces, and has been named Everly Kate Dean. She has two brothers, Ben, 17, and Will, 14.

Grandparents are JS and Ruth Russell of Pocahontas and James and Shirlette Dean of Paragould. She is the great-granddaughter of Bernice Powers of Paragould.

Barrett Allen Morris

Shon and Pamela Morris of Jonesboro have announced the birth of a son, born June 2, 2015, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, six ounces, and has been named Barrett Allen Morris. He has an older sister, Payton Morris.

Grandparents are Linda Baker of Jonesboro, Barry Roush of Brookland and Shelia Randall of Walnut Ridge.

Great-grandparents are Joan Crocker of Jonesboro and Lucille Morris of Walnut Ridge.

Vivian Baldridge

Vivian Inez Kelley Baldridge, 88, of Aurora, Ill., died June 7, 2015, at her home.

Born Nov. 8, 1926, in Ravenden, she was the daughter of Walter and Margie Hill Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earmin Baldridge; a son, Harold Baldridge; a daugher, Donna Kingsbury; and a brother, John Henry Kelley.

Survivors include four children, Charles Baldridge, Linda Godbey, Shirley Jaehrling and husband Matt, and Steve Baldridge and wife Patty, all of Aurora, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Baldridge; a son-in-law, John Kingsbury; 12 grandchildren, Clifton, Timothy, Christina, Michael, Adam, Aaron, Kari, Chad, Kyle, Erica, Claudia and Victoria; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Burial was in Hope Cemetery at Imboden.

Lealon Cummings Jr.

Lealon Cummings Jr., 71, of Fort Worth, Texas, died June 6, 2015, at his home.

He was a 1963 graduate of Egypt High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was retired from Texas Eastern Transmission Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lealon Sr. and Edna Persley Cummings; a brother, Edward Lee Cummings; a brother-in-law, Duffy Peronia; and two nephews, Eddie Cummings and Jay Lee Cummings.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Wells Cummings; a daughter, Toni Moore and husband Kirk, Fort Worth; two brothers, A.J. Cummings and wife Louise, Booneville, and Rudy Cummings and wife Barbara, Jonesboro; four sisters, Betty Peronia, Linda Colburn and husband Terry, and Joy Lingo and husband Dennis, all of Egypt, and Shirley Murphy and husband Glenn, Walnut Ridge; and two grandchildren, Nicholas Moore and Kailyn Moore.

Funeral was Tuesday, June 9, at Rosewood Cemetery Mausoleum in Longview, Texas, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.

Anita Galindo

Anita M. Galindo, 64, of Walnut Ridge, died June 12, 2015, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born July 24, 1950, in Sycamore, Ill., she was the daughter of Arthur and Inez VanDusen Cook. She was a Spanish translator for the courts and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include a sister, Sally Warner, Walnut Ridge; a brother, Gary Cook, Sycamore, Ill.; a nephew, Jack Warner, Walnut Ridge; and a niece, Inez Ward, Williford.

A memorial service will be announced later.

J.T. Godwin

J.T. Godwin, 72, of Batesville, died June 9, 2015, at White River Medical Center.

Born Nov. 24, 1942, in Dowdy, he was a self-employed truck driver. He also worked for Dowell Trucking, the Arkansas Highway Department and the Independence County Road Department, and owned Godwin Grocery in Batesville. He was a member of North Heights Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Thomas Ray Godwin; his parents, Jewell and Mirkley Melton Godwin; and a brother, Maurice Lance.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Wadley Godwin; a daughter, Deborah Halcom, Batesville; two grandchildren, Beth Bruce-Creasey and Ty Bruce; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at North Heights Church of Christ with Chuck Hix, Jimmy Hubbard and Benson Hardaway officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Freddie Avant, Gene Melton, Paul Cummings, Darrell Fulbright, Vernon Eagans and Buford Eagans. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Coldwell, Rob Cox, Drew Sandage, Jim Bruce, Mitchell Burcham, Ronnie Melton, Pat Melton, Delbert Ray Melton, Chris Gillihan, Robert Griffin, Billy Bob Burns, Ron Byars, Pat Mashburn, Roger Mashburn, Mike Mashburn and the Independence County Road Department.

Vera Hatfield

Vera Hatfield, 91, of Gassville, died June 12, 2015, at a Gassville nursing home.

Born Feb. 12, 1924, at Smithville, she was the daughter of Clarence and Bama Watkins Huckabee. She was retired for Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo, Ind.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Henry Justin and Vernon J. Hatfield; a brother, Olden Huckabee; and four sisters, Wanda Lee Lasley, Violet Coke, Hazel Heath and Helen Snyder.

Survivors include two daughters, Leona Haley, Gassville, and Bonnie Gerlach and husband Dale, St. Joseph, Mich.; a brother, Lloyd Huckabee, Poughkeepsie; three grandchildren, Danny Haley, Kenny Haley and Reese Haley; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City with Bro. Mark Vance officiating. Burial will be in Spotts Cemetery at Poughkeepsie.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Doyan Huckabee, Michael Huckabee, Kenny Haley, Reese Haley and Danny Haley.

Gladys Ingram

Gladys Lenell Ingram, 84, of Jonesboro, formerly of Egypt, passed away June 15, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born in Poughkeepsie on Nov. 30, 1930, to Addie Freeman. Throughout her life, Gladys found joy and happiness in God, family and friends. Gladys retired from Frolic, and also worked at the Westside School cafeteria. She was a member of the Greensboro Road Church of Christ in Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Freeman; her husband, Neil Ingram; a son, Larry Ingram; a daughter, Ann Lively; and a brother, L.D. Freeman.

Gladys is survived by her sons, Jimmy and wife Cathy Ingram of Paragould, Rick and wife Bridget Ingram of Egypt, and Randy and wife Emma Ingram of Jonesboro; two daughters, Linda and husband Bill Brand of Jonesboro, and Neala Jean and husband Jimmy McFarland of Bay; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park with Dannie and Gannon Vaughn playing "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes.

Visitation is today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kevin McFarland, Jeremy McFarland, Blake Ingram, Michael Engelken, Jeremy Ricks and Tommy Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Radcliff, Kolby Gates, Derek Easley, Justin Ingram, Nathan Feezor, Riley Cole and Dannie Vaughn.

Ruby Nell Privett

Ruby Nell Privett, 93, of Hoxie, died June 12, 2015, in Walnut Ridge.

Born April 11, 1922, in Marked Tree, she was the daughter of Therman and Ollie Haynes. She lived most of her life in Lawrence County and also lived in Weona for several years. She was a homemaker and a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Privett; a son, Kenneth Privett; a grandson, Robert Privett; a great-granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Anderson; and three sons-in-law, Charles Harper, Wayne Tarry and William Bookout.

Survivors include eight sons, Nolan Privett, Memphis, Jerry Privett, White Oaks, N.C., Gene Privett, Paul Privett and Terry Privett, all of Hoxie, James Privett, Brentwood, Tenn., Johnny Privett, Portia, and Rickey Joe Privett, Walnut Ridge; three daughters, Margaret Tarry, Paragould, Catherine Bookout, Hoxie, and Pam Penn, Pocahontas; a sister, Cora Amaral, Boston; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Rickey Forbis officiating. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery at Portia.

Pallbearers were David Harper, Danny Harper, Wesley Bookout, Mark Privett, Michael Privett and Jeremy Privett.

John Dale Roberson

John Dale Roberson, 76, of Hoxie, died June 10, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, following a long fight with cancer.

Born Oct. 16, 1938, he was the son of John and Violet Roberson.

He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick; four sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include a son, Gary Roberson; a sister, Joann Thompson; a dear friend, Retha Taylor Runsick; special friends, Author and Betty Inman and Dale and Cindy Singletary.

The body was donated to the Genesis Medical Education Research Institute. A memorial service will be held Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the Hoxie Church of Christ.

Geneva Honey Rorex

Geneva Honey Rorex, 85, of Mountain Home, died June 11, 2015, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.

Born Sept. 2, 1929, in Grubbs, she was the daughter of Horace and Pearl Honey. After retiring from General Electric in Jonesboro in 1990, she and her husband moved to the Hand Cove area. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. "Jack" Rorex; two brothers, Kenneth Honey and J.L. Honey; a sister, Beatrice Cullum; and a grandson, David Allen Way.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Neely and wife Terry, Batesville; a daughter, Deborah Neely Way and husband Gary, Mountain Home; three grandchildren, Tina Lewis, Mary James and Samantha Capps; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at Cox Funeral Home with Frank Plachy officiating. Burial was in Markham Cemetery near Egypt.

Bart Voyles

James Bartus "Bart" Voyles, 84, of Strawberry, died June 14, 2015.

Born Sept. 22, 1930, in Russell, he was the son of James Alpheus and Zela Dee McCrackin Voyles. He attended school at Poughkeepsie. He was self-employed and a lifelong resident of Strawberry.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He was in the military police and, during his final years of service, was staff sergeant to the Inspector General's Office. He received an honorable medical discharge after 12 years of service.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bennett Andrew "Andy" Voyles; two sisters, Chloe Bryant and Ina Glidewell; and three brothers, Argus Voyles, Conard Voyles and J.D. Voyles.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Lou Alice Voyles; two daughters, Donna Turner, Walnut Ridge, and Beverly Tucker and husband Dr. Michael Tucker, White Hall; two sisters, Emma Whitley, Florida, and Joyce Denton, Cave City; five grandchildren, Andrew Turner, Aaron Turner, Andrea Coney, Bart Tucker and Katherine Allen; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 10 a.m. at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City with Bro. Curt Howard officiating. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery at Strawberry.

Visitation is tonight from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Turner, Andrew Turner, Bart Tucker, Rick Clem, Stuart Allen and Chad Coney. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Voyles, Jim Voyles, Ken Voyles, Clifford Glidewell and Tony Glidewell.
