Natchez offers historic
charm and hospitality

Natchez, Miss., is the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River. We spent a couple of nights there and just got a taste of that small city of approximately 15,500 residents.

For anyone who enjoys history, especially Civil War history, as well as historic, antebellum (pre-Civil War) homes, it is a Mecca. The 2015 Spring Pilgrimage extends from March 7 through April 7. It is a time when most of the houses, some of which are private family residences, are open for touring. It is also the time when the azaleas begin putting on a show.
