WR, S-H split in basketball
Walnut Ridge hosted Sloan-Hendrix in 2A-2 Conference basketball action Thursday at Sharum Gymnasium.
Walnut Ridge won the senior boys game 80-68 behind a 27-point performance from Kenzie Flippo. The Bobcats led 43-30 at halftime and stretched the lead to 60-41 after three quarters.
Kyle Nunley had 17 points, and Spencer Wilson added 11 for Walnut Ridge.
Sloan-Hendrix was led by Kyle Murphy with 18 points. Tyler Murphy added 17 point, and Colby Johnson finished with 16.
Walnut Ridge won a junior boys game 59-41.
The Sloan-Hendrix senior girls edged Walnut Ridge 70-67 in overtime.
Walnut Ridge led 15-14 at the end of the first quarter, and 32-26 at halftime. The Lady Bobcats held a 43-35 advantage after three quarters before the Lady Greyhounds rallied to send the contest into overtime tied 62-62.
Bailey Bradley had 18 points, and Alyssa Nichols added 16 for Sloan-Hendrix.
Allyson McQuay led Walnut Ridge with a game-high 29 points. Brianna Nunley had 16 points, and Courtney Cox added 10.
