House remains
on roads board

Outgoing Walnut Ridge Mayor Don House has been reappointed to the Good Roads Arkansas Board.

He is one of six from Northeast Arkansas who will be on the board including Mark Lambreth of Batesville and Ed Way, Mayor Harold Perrin, Carl White and Dr. Tim Hudson, all of Jonesboro.

"With Highway 67 to be opened to Walnut Ridge next year and with the future route to the state line in the planning stage, it is important we stay connected," House said.

During a meeting on Tuesday in Little Rock, the board honored outgoing Gov. Mike Beebe by funding a $2,500 single-parent college scholarship in memory of his mother, who was a single parent.
