WR falls to EPC, to face

Walnut Ridge concluded the regular season with a 3-4 record in the 2A-3 Conference standings and will advance to the 2A State playoffs as the conference's fifth seed. The Bobcats will play at Junction City in a first-round game on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Bobcats got off to a promising start against EPC when Cash Lee scored on an 18-yard run with 8:27 to play in the opening quarter. Luke Harper ran for the two-point conversion to give Walnut Ridge an early 8-0 lead.
Mustangs earn home field advantage for playoffsThe Hoxie Mustangs closed out the regular season with a 49-12 win over the Manila Lions at Crider Field on Thursday night. The Mustangs will host the Marianna Lee Trojans in the first round of the 3A State playoffs Friday night at 7 p.m.
Screamin' Eagles win in OTThe Hillcrest senior boys basketball team traveled to Calico Rock Thursday night and picked up another overtime win, defeating the Pirates 55-51.
Lady Hounds beat ViolaThe Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds outscored Viola 14-6 in the fourth quarter to earn a 45-39 comeback win in high school basketball action Thursday at Viola.
