Runoffs set for Nov. 25
Two runoffs have been slated in Lawrence County following the Nov. 4 General Election.
Hoxie voters will decide between incumbent Lanny Tinker and Dennis Coggins for mayor.
In Walnut Ridge, Roger Duckworth and Allen Smith are in a runoff for alderman ward 1, position 2
Only registered voters in the municipalities will be eligible to vote in the runoffs. Walnut Ridge voters will vote at the Lawrence County Meeting Room, and Hoxie voters will vote at the Hoxie Service Center.
Early voting will begin Tuesday and continue through Nov. 24 during regular office hours at the Lawrence County Clerk’s Office.
U.S. Senate: Tom Cotton (R), 2,593; Mark Pryor (D), 1,731.
U.S. Congress District 01: Rick Crawford (R), 3,124; Jack McPherson (D), 1,187.
Governor: Asa Hutchinson (R), 2,340; Mike Ross (D), 2,079.
Lieutenant governor: Tim Griffin (R), 2,558; John Burkhalter (D), 1,770.
Attorney general: Leslie Rutledge (R), 2,204; Nate Steel (D), 2,025.
Secretary of state: Mark Martin (R), 2,897; Susan Inman (D), 1,439.
State treasurer: Dennis Milligan (R), 2,362; Karen Sealy Garcia (D), 1,774.
Auditor of state: Andrea Lea (R), 2,350; Regina Stewart-Hampton (D), 1,855.
Commissoner of state lands: John Thurston (R), 2,453; Mark A. Robertson (D), 1,737.
Statewide, all issues on the ballot passed other than Issue No. 4 (the alcohol amendment). That vote also failed in Lawrence County by a vote of 2,850 against and 1,732 for.
Lawrence County did not show support for Issue No. 2 (75% for issues) by a vote of 2,308 against and 2,109 for and Issue No. 3 (term limits, etc.) by a vote of 2,352 against and 2,145 for, though the issues passed statewide.
Local voters did support Issue No. 1 (legislative approval) 2,401 for and 1,991 against and Issue No. 5 (minimum wage) 3,128 for and 1,422 against.
