Marked Tree rallies to beat WR
Marked Tree rallied from an early 14-0 deficit to defeat the Walnut Ridge Bobcats 35-14 in senior high football action Friday night at Marked Tree.

Walnut Ridge opened the scoring on Tyler Binkley's 19-yard run with 6:15 to play in the first quarter. The Indians stopped the two-point conversion to leave the Bobcats with a 6-0 lead.
The Bobcats added to their lead when Tyler Andrews tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Michael Bounds on the first play of the second quarter. Luke Harper ran for the conversion to give Walnut Ridge a 14-0 lead.
Mustangs fall to Osceola
The Osceola Seminoles played a strong first half, then held off the Hoxie Mustangs in the second half to claim 26-21 victory at Crider Field Friday night. The win gave the Seminoles sole possession of first place in the 3-3A Conference standings, while handing the Mustangs their first regular season loss since 2012.

Hoxie jr. girls earn titles,
The Hoxie junior high volleyball team defeated Cedar Ridge and Midland last week to complete the regular season as undefeated champions of the 3A Northeast Conference with an 11-0 record in league play. The junior Lady Mustangs capped the season by winning the junior district tournament at Walnut Ridge on Saturday.

The Walnut Ridge senior high volleyball team closed out the 2014 regular season last week with victories over Pocahontas and Crowley's Ridge Academy.
