Sears leads Mustangs to
49-13 win over Rivercrest

Cole Sears ran for three touchdowns and passed for two more as the Hoxie Mustangs rang up 42 first-half points in a 49-13 rout of the Rivercrest Colts Friday night at Crider Field.

Sears put Hoxie on the board with a three-yard run with 5:27 remaining in the first quarter, capping an 85-yard drive. Casey Middlecoff's extra point gave Hoxie a 7-0 lead.

After a Rivercrest punt, the Mustangs marched again, with Sears finding James Johnson for a 10-yard score, boosting the lead to 13-0 with 56 seconds left in the quarter.

WR beats Cedar Ridge,
falls to Newport, Piggott

The Walnut Ridge senior high volleyball team dropped matches against Newport and Piggott early in the week, but rebounded to sweep Cedar Ridge 25-8, 25-9, 25-22 on Thursday at Newark.

Hoxie volleyball teams enjoy week of 3A wins

The Hoxie senior high defeated CRA 16-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-12 at Paragould on Oct. 7.

WR falls to Earle

The Earle Bulldogs rolled into Sexton Field and left with a 62-0 win over the Walnut Ridge Bobcats in senior high football action Friday night.
