Shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday the Lawrence County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a one-vehicle accident off of Highway 67 between Minturn and Alicia with the vehicle submerged in a body of water.
Driver Doloris Nunally of Walnut Ridge said while she was driving, she became very ill and her vision became blurred. The next thing she remembers is her car filling with water.
According to Nunally, a motorist who had been traveling behind her assisted her out of her car. "I remember this young man saying, 'lady, you have to get out of the car,'" she said.
She also said there were two women who stopped and sat with her while awaiting the ambulance.
On Facebook, Nunally made a post stating, "I thank God this young man was there and for what he did for me, as well as all the other people who helped me and stayed with me until the ambulance arrived. I asked him his name and he told me but with everything going on I can not remember his name."
The Hoxie Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies, Arkansas State Police and an ambulance were all dispatched to the accident. The vehicle was recovered by Cook’s Wrecker Service.
Nunally was kept in the hospital overnight but nothing has been determined as to why she blacked out while driving. She said that she is fine but very sore from the accident.
She hopes to be able to find the man who helped her. "I would like to talk to him and tell him how grateful I am to him. I will never forget how kind he was."
Any information about the motorist who assisted Nunally can be reported to The Times Dispatch by calling 886-2464.
