Countywide enrollment down slightly

First-day enrollment for all schools in Lawrence County totaled 3,011 students which is slightly less than 2013's 3,027 students.

Hillcrest School District showed an increase of 38 students with an enrollment of 425 compared to last year's 387 students.

Sloan-Hendrix's enrollment figure was up from 637 in 2013 to 709, and Hoxie's enrollment also increased by 38 students with a first day enrollment of 904 compared to 866 in 2013.

Lawrence County School District enrollment in 2013 was for both Black Rock and Walnut Ridge campuses. The Black Rock campus was closed at the end of the 2013-14 year. First-day enrollment for the district this year is 908 students compared to 2013's total of 1,082, 261 of whom were on the Black Rock campus.

Imboden Area Charter School's enrollment for this year is 65 students, an increase of 10 students from 2013.

Totals are preliminary as schools will experience fluctuations in enrollment over the next few weeks.
