Kopp to seek election
Pamela Kopp of Walnut Ridge has announced that she will seek election to the office of city clerk/recorder/treasurer in the Nov. 4 General Election.
She was appointed to the position in December at a special meeting held by the city council after Carolyn Hayes retired due to health reasons.
"I enjoy the work," Kopp said. "I look forward to serving the people of Walnut Ridge for the next four years."
Kopp is a Hoxie High School graduate and graduated from Delta Vocational School in 1973 where she studied office skills. She has spent her career in accounting and all aspects of office work.
She is a former employee of Quality Concrete Products, now Clark General Contractors, and Citizens National Bank, where she worked in the loan department, new accounts and was also a teller.
She worked for Benson Hart from 1981 through 2004 while he was an accountant, Walnut Ridge City Clerk and Municipal Court Clerk. She served as a deputy court clerk, and was later employed by the State of Arkansas for Judge Tom Hilburn as his case coordinator and administrative assistant.
She has worked for Debbie Smith, CPA, and the Walnut Ridge Country Club performing all necessary office work and assistant manager duties.
Kopp has two children, a son, Chris Kopp, and a daughter, Jodi Cain.
