Deal reached on West Elm property

After months of stalled progress and negotiations, an agreement has been reached that should result in the demolition of a condemned building in downtown Walnut Ridge.

Former Walnut Ridge mayors J.R. and Michelle Rogers attended a special city council meeting Monday night to discuss plans to demolish the building they own at 116 West Elm Street. The building was condemned by the city in November.

Recycling bin now
in new location

After repeated vandalism caused the Northeast Arkansas Regional Landfill to remove the recycling bin in Walnut Ridge, Mayor Don House said adjustments have been made to provide better security so that recycling will still be an option for citizens.

Kopp to seek election

Pamela Kopp of Walnut Ridge has announced that she will seek election to the office of city clerk/recorder/treasurer in the Nov. 4 General Election.

Lawson to run for WR mayor

Lifelong resident and businessman Ed Lawson has formally announced his candidacy for mayor of Walnut Ridge.

Traveling heroes quilt donated
to Wings of Honor Museum

The Wings of Honor Museum recently received a donation from Daniela McKenzie of Reyno of a heroes quilt that been signed by over 1,500 soldiers.
