Quorum Court names
county road after Wallin

County Judge Dale Freeman requested the approval of the Lawrence County Quorum Court to rename County Road 615 in honor of the late Michael "Button" Wallin. The request was approved unanimously.

2014 baby winners

The annual baby show was held Saturday in conjunction with the Portia picnic.

to WR City Council

A moment of silence was held prior to the July 8 Walnut Ridge City Council meeting for the late Michael "Button" Wallin, who was serving as an alderman.

Forecolosure underway on store

The city of Hoxie has decided to continue with the foreclosure of the property at 700 Southwest Texas Street, formerly Wayne's Hometown Market, after owner Wayne Black was no longer able to make payments.

Airport Commission
plans to upgrade roof

During its Monday meeting, the Walnut Ridge Airport Commission discussed options for upgrading the roof of the building leased by V & B Manufacturing (the old Frolic Footwear building).
