WR woman dies
Walnut Ridge resident Karen Green, 44, died on Thursday morning at Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The MED) after undergoing surgery.
Green was involved in a two-vehicle accident on June 23 at the intersection of Southwest Front Street and West Free Street in Walnut Ridge.
At 12:09 p.m., a 2009 Ford Focus driven by Robin Roxanne Wilburn, 18, of Hoxie, pulled into the path of a 1990 Cadillac Deville heading northbound on Southwest Front Street.
According to the police report, the front of the Cadillac hit the Ford on its passenger side and pushed the vehicle off the roadway. Daniel Ray Coulson, 24, of Walnut Ridge, was driving the Cadillac.
Green was a rear passenger in the Focus and the Walnut Ridge Fire Department used extrication tools to remove her from the vehicle. She, along with other rear passengers, Issac Green, 15, Jeffery Lomax, 20, and Destiny Green, nine, were transported to St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro with injuries.
Wilburn later sought medical treatment but was released, and front passenger Chevy Gillette, 17, refused medical treatment.
Coulson, the driver of the Cadillac, and his rear passenger, Michael Harper, sustained injuries but refused medical treatment. Tiffany Schoenfeld, 24, of Walnut Ridge, was the front passenger in the Cadillac and was taken to St. Bernards.
St. Bernards transported Destiny and Isaac Green to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, and Green was flown to The MED.
Funeral services for Green will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home.
