Plans to demolish
WR building underway

Progress has been made to demolish the condemned property, located at 116 West Elm Street in Walnut Ridge, owned by J.R. Rogers. During the June 10 city council meeting, Mayor Don House said that Rogers has met with a contracting firm that has agreed to do the work.

Committee moving
forward with projects

The Lawrence County Chamber's Community Revitalization and Beautification Committee has announced plans for another Community Day of Service, as well as the beginning stages of an effort to improve the downtown Walnut Ridge area.

Categories set in TD photo contest

The Times Dispatch's 22nd Summertime Photo Contest is underway. The deadline for entry is July 18.

Turner named next BRTC president

The Board of Trustees of Black River Technical College has named Dr. Eric Turner as BRTC's next president. The announcement was made on Thursday by chair Sue Gibson.
